Highlights
  • Heart Creek Trail Head - After meeting your guides and other participants at the staging area in the Heart Creek Trail parking lot, a 30 - 45 min hike will bring you to the top of both the Canyon sections, and the start of your canyon adventure. Everyone suits up and in order to ensure safety your guides will go thru a mandatory rappel and rope safety clinic. There are a total of 5 rappels, interspersed with some scrambling and hiking. The upper canyon is the easier section and can be dry later on in the summer. This gives everyone the opportunity to ease into the rappelling. The last rappel on the lower canyon section is always wet (it can be considered optional it is not required to exit the canyon, a hike around is available).

Absolutely must do in Banff - Had a wonderful experience! Marc and the other guide were so much fun and made sure everyone felt safe while also having a great time. Once in a lifetime experience! For those signing up for the summer, we did spend a lot of time in the water/waterfalls and it was cold lol but it only added to the experience!

Epic Adventure - This was an awesome experience for my husband and I! Kris, our guide, made the experience so amazing, giving us local recommendations, helpful tips, and hyping us up along the way. A huge shoutout goes to him for making this experience awesome for us! We didn’t bring a waterproof camera, but Kris made sure to get a few snapshots of us on his phone along the way, going above and beyond for us! Our group was only my husband and I, as we were the only ones who booked that time slot. It made things go very smoothly and quick, and made our experience much more personalized. There was a lot of water in the canyon when we went (June 4), so a good amount of our experience was sliding and getting lowered, however, it you go when the upper canyon is more dry it will be more rappelling. Our favorite part was the 60ft rappel in the lower canyons near the end of the tour! This was a pretty physically demanding activity, so I would only recommend it to those that are confident in their physical fitness. The hike up wasn’t bad, but rappelling did take a good amount of physical strength. This was on the top 5 list of craziest, most awesome things I’ve ever done. I strongly recommend it for adventurous, thrill seeking people!

Unforgettable, safe, amazing - The view from within the canyons are unmatched, and the entire experience really makes you feel one with nature. The hike up to the canyons for the half day is steep at the end but doable. The guides made us feel super safe, especially as newbie canyoners, and were very motivating for some of the more difficult parts. Marc and his crew (Pablo and Kris) are absolutely amazing at what they do and made it an unforgettable day!

Fun Time!!! - We had a great time on our canyoning trip with Chris! He was very helpful and patient with us. It was just our family of 4 and the weather was perfect. The hike in to the canyon was a little more than we bargained for but we made it fine (it was a breeze for our twenty something daughters of course). The wet suits were much appreciated as the temperature dropped as you got higher up in the canyon and the water was VERY cold. We all had hiking boots on which was helpful but be prepared for them to be soaked as you will be landing/sliding in to waist deep water. Definitely a fun bucket list activity!

Wild Wet Fun - Zach our climbing guide was awesome. He was very skilled in canyon repelling and knowledgeable about the area. I felt very safe even though I get nervous with heights. The canyon was running unseasonably wet when we went so the canyon was filled with glacier melt, which we slid and repelled through. Wet suits were provided and I think under normal conditions circumstances would have been fine. I would encourage the carrier to be more descriptive on what to wear and come up with better photo opportunities. We did this great adventure and have ZERO pictures from it.
