Highlights
  • Lavaloha - Did you know chocolate comes from a tree!?! We are growers and makers of single-origin, 100% Hawaiian chocolate. Our 1,000-acre farm is set high on the slopes of Mauna Kea, just above Hilo town, where the rich volcanic soil adds depth and flavor to our cocoa beans.

We invite you to take the scenic drive up to our Visitor Center where you’ll be welcomed with sweeping views from mauka (mountain) to makai (ocean). Embark on a Tree-to-Chocolate Tour with our knowledgeable guides where you’ll explore our cacao orchards, walk through our chocolate processing facilities, and learn about the tree-to-chocolate journey.

Complete your tour at the Visitor Center with our white chocolate with nibs sample. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the nuances of flavor between chocolates with different cacao percentages and indulge in exciting flavors like Milk Chocolate with Mediterranean Sea Salt, Dark Chocolate with Orange, and 70% Dark Chocolate to name a few.

Super fun your and lots of tasting chocolate, great for families too - BEST TOUR EVER! Lei was an amazing and hilarious tour guide. I've done chocolate tasting tours on the islands before and this was so fun, and they were very generous with their chocolate tasting! They have a great gift shop as well, lots of chocolate flavors and options. The coffee, mocha latte, and latte bars were delicious, and the orange chocolate was my favorite. It would be cool if they had larger giftable samples of all their chocolate, including iconic hawaiian flavors like mango, etc, and maybe collections ie coffee collection, pure chocolate collection, tropical collection, in gift sets. But overall one of the top highlights of our trip to Hilo!

Wonderful experience for chocolate lovers of any age - This tour was really great! The whole family enjoyed the hands-on experience and tasting. It was great for kids as well (ours are 6 and 4 years old and don’t speak English). A beautiful sunken garden, duck and chicken round out the tour. Our guide Nick was very knowledgeable and great fun. Lots of stories about the place! We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in chocolate - young and old. We took quite a few bags of chocolate home. Delicious and very special.

Who Doesn’t Love Chocolate? - Such a wonderful tour! Jess had us laughing the whole entire time. You cannot go wrong with any of the chocolate flavors. All the local sourcing is incredible! The only thing that would make it even better would be miniature horses ☺️. Mahalo nui loa!
