Witness a captivating Kona sunset aboard our spacious 50’ catamaran as we navigate the Kona waters, followed by an unrivaled adventure – venturing beneath the waves to snorkel with the grand manta rays! On arrival, gain a comprehensive understanding of one of the most intriguing marine species. Accompany your professional and accredited guides underwater as you engage with the magnificent hahalua (manta rays). We provide snorkeling equipment, instructions, wetsuits, and swim noodles free of charge. Complimentary water, juice, soft drinks, hot chocolate, and cookies are also included. Guests have the option to purchase beer, wine, and mixed drinks from our fully stocked bar.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
- Any tour participants that are getting in the water MUST KNOW HOW TO SWIM without the assistance of a flotation device
- Children under the age of 5 are not allowed in the water and MUST be accompanied by an adult on the vessel at all times
- Guests are asked to check-in at our KONASTYLE retail outlet 45 MINUTES PRIOR to your scheduled departure time. We are located in the Kona Square Shopping Complex. Our address is 75 5669 Alii Drive, #1107, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740
- We offer validated parking at the Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha Hotel for up to 5.5 hours for a nominal fee. Please bring your parking ticket with you to check-in. (Fee is under Exclusion)
- PLEASE NOTE that trip start times VARY throughout the year to accommodate for the time changes of the setting sun.
- Not recommended for travelers that are not strong swimmers. If guest is not a competent swimmer (as determined by the Captain and/or crew), they will be directed to immediately return to the vessel. In such instances the guest will NOT be refunded
- Not recommended for travelers that are prone to seasickness / motion sickness
- Not recommended for travelers with a body mass index (BMI) higher than 36. We reserve the right to deny water entry to any individual with a BMI above 36.

Bucket List Trip Fulfilled Beautifully - Swimming with the rays was a bucket list item for us & this group did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful. The equipment (snorkels, wetsuits) were in good condition, and the boat was very nice.
The interaction with the rays was amazing. We saw multiple rays, and it was fun to listen to the staff identify them by name and characteristics. They had a genuine interest in providing an informative and enjoyable experience while protecting the giant creatures we came to see.

Highlight of my life! - Seeing Manta Rays up close, literally 3 inches from my face was unbelievable!!! We saw at least 7 Manta Rays and 5 at one time. Each Manta was about 12 to 15 feet wide and about 1,200 to 1,500 pounds. The Manta’s swooped round and did back flip’s over and over while eating the plankton attracted to our lights. Kona Styles Boat was clean new and immaculate. The crew was very attentive, experienced and made me feel very safe. They knew just where to position us to see the Manta’s. Our captain Tanner explained everything with perfect amount of detail in a fun manner!

The Manta Ray viewing was phenomenal - We had the pleasure of being on the 4-4-24 sunset tour, and boy oh boy it was a Manta Ray fest.. was saw so many mantas and barrel roll after barrel roll. The Kona Style crew was polite, professional and very accommodating. The entire crew’s concern for the protection of the manta rays while providing an over the top experience was outstanding. Thanks again Kona Style we will be back again!!

Great experience! - Great boat, great crew. Joined these guys for both the snorkeling day trip and manta ray sunset trip 2 years ago with just the two of us and then brought our kids on same trips this time around. It’s the perfect sized boat, not too crowded, well maintained. Crew does everything to make you comfortable. Have recommended them to our friends in the past and would do so again.

Unforgettable experience with the manta rays! - We had an amazing experience!!! The tour provided us with the snorkeling gears and wetsuit. My fiance and I went into the ocean and manta rays were everywhere as soon as we got into the water. My parents stayed on the boat and did not go into the water, but they were still able to see some manta rays on the surface. We all enjoyed our experience, and the staff were super accommodating and knowledgeable! There were a few kids in the group who were scared, and the staff were super nice in helping them out.

Up Close w/ the Manta Rays - Our snorkel trip with Kona Style was amazing!!! We saw manta rays as soon as we got into the water, and the staff were all so nice and accomodating!

Book this trip! - First class trip! I booked the sunset manta snorkel with my 13 year old who has expressed interest in scuba diving and marine biology (boyfriend rode along for the sunset). I was hesitant but excited since (as every parent knows) it could be great or it could be a disaster, especially since neither of us had ever snorkeled before. Kona Style staff and crew made this a memory of a lifetime for all of us!
The check process was smooth. The captain and staff instructions were clearly delivered while also being fun. Everything they did made us feel safe and comfortable. We were in the water for 45 minutes after a 30 minute ride to the bay. The mantas put on an incredible show for the entire time, coming up close (read inches from our faces) for a great view. Even my boyfriend had a great view from the boat.
Definitely bring something warm to wear. Even though the water is warm, after 45 minutes of floating in the ocean and the breeze on the ride back you will want a sweatshirt.
I can’t say enough about the whole experience and the crew. They were fabulous. Seriously, they made this experience. I can see how it could have been completely different if they hadn’t been so extremely professional and together.

Great experience - We enjoyed our sail and manta ray show! The crew cared about safety and fun. The soundtrack was perfect and we enjoyed the beautiful boat. My kids (preteens) might have enjoyed it more if they were a bit older. I appreciated the respect for the mantas and the ocean. 10/10 recommended.
