Mahalo to Sean and Brad! Definitely worth the time and money! - Went out on the Bite Me 4 with Sean and Brad today. They were both great and made the trip very memorable. It was my wife’s first time deep she fishing and she caught a 30lb skipjack tuna. Definitely something she will always remember.

1/2 Day pelagic charter (marlin) - Did the 1/2 day shared Charter on Bite Me 4, though it was captained by the usual bite Me 6 Captain Brian. Clayton was the deck hand. Brian and Clayton were very friendly and knowledgeable, and catered to my 7 year old son who can talk underwater. They put the group onto 4 marlin, 3 blue and one stripped. All the other people on the boat that day were really friendly (2 Canadians and 2 from the mainland USA). Can recommend the charter to anyone.

Never too old to catch a Marlin! - What an amazing day today! We chartered a 6 hour sport fishing boat hoping to catch dinner for the week but what we got was so much more! Once in a lifetime catch of beautiful blue Marlin. We didn’t keep this beautiful creature, we gladly caught her and released her back to the clear blue waters of Kona Hi. Huge shout out to the Captains Hunter and Daron on the Bite me 4! They were both great helping my 83 year young dad reel this beauty in! Thanks for a great time!

Dependable, Affordable, Nice, Fun Fishing Charter in Kona, Hawaii - We were originally booked on FireHat Charters but the day before we were notified while on a cruise ship that they had mechanical issues with a fuel leak. The Captain was so nice in helping us find an alternative the day before we were in Kona, Hawaii. We could not have made a better choice. We booked "Bite Me 3" and the Capt. was awesome and been on this boat for 15 years. His 1st mate was from Arkansas and was equally awesome. They had a female guest in from Oregon and a former 1st mate who tagged along and helped out running lines, baiting the hooks and was a " Ball of Fire". We caught five (5) Mahi Mahi's and several were around 60 inches and Bull's, we also caught several Ahi Ahi Tuna's in the short 5-6 hour trip. The Boat provided ice and some drinks but we were told to provide our snacks, and drinks but put on the ships ice. The day was perfect, the vessel was awesome and the crew was very nice. The absolute only negative was on the entire island of Kona is no place with dry ice, packaging materials or a business to package our 300 lbs. of Mahi Mahi and Ahi Tuna. We were told the Charter does not provide this service and nobody on the island provides processing your fish for shipment home so we HAD TO GIVE THE FISH TO THE CREW. Still a lot of fun to catch but would have been nice to eat. I would highly recommend this Captain and company but only fish with Live Bait as this is all that we caught fish on. They had some left over from the previous 8AM charter and the Mahi Mahi snapped them up quick. We trolled the coastline and the floating dead log area and was very successful for our party of 4 adults. Took a lot of pictures and made wonderful memories. I will use them again in the future.

4 Catches! Fun Time! Solid Captain! Gray Taxonomy Upsell Warning - Paid for the 4-hour Private Charter on Bite-Me 6.
Tip #1: Directions to the boat extremely confusing so to not ruin your trip come early to ensure your on time like we did!
Tip #2: We caught an amazing 150 lb Blue Marlin and 3 Skip Jacks Tunas each about 30 lbs but to be fair one of the Tuna ended up just half a Tuna due to the sharks circling the boat grabbing it. Tip #2 (in humor) reel faster or end up with a fraction of a fish.
Tip #3: I let the captain have one of the Tunas and took my ice chest and took the 2nd Tuna and 1/3 of the Blue Marlin..... Captain may have sold the Tuna but that is ok. I could not eat any more than one Tuna with my family on the trip. He said he shares it with the friends, family, Hotel Concierge who recommended them. He may have sold the whole Tuna but honestly I dont care. Better he pocket it than me wasting it.
Tip #4: He secretly stop really trying to catch fish after the 4th fish was caught about 35 mins into the trip. I knew it and let it go. My son wanted more but honestly knew we would be wasting fish and we had enough fun so it became more of whale /Shark seeking tour in which we found a really large Whale Shark.
Tip #5: There are real sharks in water so dont even think about jumping in the water when fishing.
Tip #6: Tip the Captain and Crew. We gave 20% since we did catch 4 fish and let him keep one of the whole Tunas.
Tip #7: Most Important Tip of them all - Watch out for Gray Taxidermy Upsell. What every they quote you, it cost 3Xs more to get a generic plastic fish that has nothing to do with the one you caught or look like the one your caught. They try to scam us for 150 lb marlin for 1K but after shipping, crating, taxes, and a basic wood board, they wanted $3,000+ for a plastic fish that looked nothing like the one we caught. We were lucky they wrote the credit card numbers wrong so they could not "non refund" our deposit. Captain I suspect gets a kick-back and did not push it too hard like I hear other captains do, but Gray Taxidermy is a total rip-off. Watch out as you have been warned.
Net Net! Worth the trip if you dont get Gray Taxidermy-ed !

Trip generally a success, captains are a drag. - Went on deep sea and manta Rey snorkel. Deck hands were great, captains (Andy, on deep sea, apparently 20 years doing charters is too long) expressed contempt for tourists. Nothing directed at my family; just overt, voiced contempt. Deck hands on both trips did what they could to blunt the issue but it was obvious and hung over the group.

Don’t do it - Our trip was scheduled for 6:30 am, we drove 45 minutes, arrived early, only to find out at 6:20 am that trip was cancelled ( I have the captains email). What a perfectly terrible experience, still haven’t gotten a refund, and we would have to given them 48 hours notice, hmmmmm, think they’ll reimburse us for gas and time, ha ha ha….

dissappointing boring poisoned by boat fumes - I wouldnt recommend "bite me fishing" to anyone else.
Ok first day 4hr hour shared trip....location given hopeless 4 of us didnt find it.
Skipper and mate nice lads but smelt like sleep in their car. Skipper said capt gets 10.99$ an hour mate tips only...caught nothing except diesel fumes in lungs.\
2nd day 6 hrs thouroughly burnt out skipper fat lad with beard wouldnt let anyone up top...so suffered diesel poisoning made it known and ignored. His lass 2nd mate said it was cos he is scared of covid he said no he fell climbing ladder.
promised live bait fishing got 20 mins of it and we caught a foot long tuna in 5 mins which they kept. we were not even offered to make fish n chips out of it.
To summarize $650 spent each to know NEVRE EVER AGAIN.
Its not the kids fault we caught f all...but the miserable time had was.
