Amazing family experience! Book this tour and save $ over all the higher priced ones. - Exactly what we wanted! Small group, small boat (holds 11), short boat trip (less than 5 min), 25 min in water which is plenty of time to see and the Manta. Plankton are attracted to the light which bring the Mantas right to you (rule is don’t touch but they will touch you). Was able to get amazing video and pics with underwater camera of the 5 mantas we saw. Staff was awesome and you felt safe. From Makai on the dock watching over your personal items, to our water guide (sorry, forgot name), Alabama Amber on boat and Capt Chris for putting us in great location. Two things I was worried about before booking: 1) Night float in dark waters. The scary part is swimming to and from the boat to the light board. Capt Chris keeps boat close by so it is a 15-20’ dark water swim. Wife has anxiety so she stayed in boat and was still able to see the Manta swimming up to our light board. 2) The time in the water. I was wondering if that would be enough time as this was a shorter booking than most. Answer is YES! Any more time in water would be too much in my opinion due to the sideways floating in the water. Also, with the repetitive loop the Mantas make there isn’t more that needs to be seen. Lastly, because of the small boat they are able to load quickly, get to site quickly and you spend most of time in the water for this excursion. Thank you for an AMAZING adventure and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND My Kona Adventures for the Manta Ray Night Snorkel!

This tour is THE ONE - Aloha! The manta ray night snorkel with My Kona Adventures was excellent. The main reason I selected this company over others is that they are veteran-owned. This review is from the perspective of a Maui resident, not a tourist. (Read: this is not a tour that I would consider if I were looking to get my butt kissed and be fed banana bread & pineapple. This is a get-on, do the thing, get-off kind of trip, which is what I prefer.) Operationally: Check-in location was easily identifiable; under a tent near the Outrigger hotel sign. Renting a wetsuit ($10) was the right move- 20+ minutes of lying flat without swimming definitely necessitated the accessory for me. The masks & snorkels were provided, and clean/defogged. You can also bring your own if the concept icks you. Crew was friendly, knowledgable, and enthusiastic from check-in through the end of the experience. The experience: absolutely incredible. You plop in from the boat, swim to a giant underlit paddleboard, throw the pool noodle under your legs, and grab on to the attached rope on the outer edge of the board then try to relax and & enjoy. We saw 8 female rays and 1 male ray, and learned about their names, anatomy, personalities, and capabilities as Chase guided us. One of the rays was sassy and got to 3rd base with my friend over his wetsuit, and I got grazed across the belly. The rays seemed to move in the pattern of the Fibonacci sequence which was majestic to witness. After the in-water portion is completed, you'll swim back to the boat and climb up the ladder. As a glasses-wearer (-3.75) my only piece of advice would be to skip the RX goggles at the snorkel shop. You'll be able to see the rays up close & personal without them, and it's not worth the hassle of managing the shop closing time/boat trip/next day return of goggles. This is an experience that will stick with me forever. Mahalo to the rays & the crew.

Amazing Experience - We were always leery of the manta ray snorkeling because it seemed too “touristy” but decided to give a try during this visit to the BI. We are kicking ourselves for not doing this sooner! Such a great experience. I’m also so glad we chose My Kona Adventures. We only had 9 in our group and it was so perfect after seeing how large some of the other groups were. Our 9 year old son is a fairly experienced snorkler but he’s also very easily overwhelmed. Danny was so calming and patient that he felt very at ease. Makai was also really fun during check in and prepared us for the water perfectly. We will definitely be back.

A must-do activity with great people - My husband and I are both well travelled, and this was one of the most unique and exhilarating experiences we’ve had! The staff were kind and funny and they took great care of us (shoutout to Eliza, Captain Chris, and Chase!!!!). I was a little nervous because I had never been in the ocean at night, but they made me feel completely at ease. We saw about 8-10 rays and they came within INCHES of us! We saw some bigger companies out on the water doing the same activity, but we felt we had a more personal experience and a better deal with this one.
