The best experience of our trip - Our trip was amazing! I can’t remember their names, maybe price? Another girl and a guy…the girl was very helpful and took my 6 yr old daughter back to the boat when she was scared..the whole crew really made you feel safe and taken care of…the captain was HILARIOUS! And a mantras swam so close that is brushed up against my arm!! It was an incredible trip

Amazing experience - This is the most amazing experience! I highly recommend Hang Loose for this experience. The captain and crew were great, very nice and eager to help anyone needing it. The boat is comfortable. A quick rinse under a hot shower when exciting the water was so nice. But the mantas…it was so beautiful.

Way beyond expectations. - Jacob, Jonah and Oola were amazing. We saw so many manta rays up close and far exceeded my expectations. We rented a go pro for $40 and got the SD card with all the footage. Totally worth it. There were a couple people having difficulties on our trip and the crew took great care of them and us. We can’t thank them enough.

F’ing crazy - Imagine a giant fish tank with a bunch of mantra rays in it and you jumping in, they are literally in your face swimming around you the entire time, it’s awesome. Eat pizza for dinner instead of a steak and justify going to this. It’s something you will never forget. I’d recommend being in the middle, that’s where the light is and they get closest, also being on the end is kinda spooky because it’s pitch black and if a shark comes, you’ll be the first to go. If I had to change anything, give people more room (it’s crammed on the board thing) and maybe provide towels after. Bring your own go pro or waterproof camera. It’s insane. 🤙

Phenomenal Experience! - This experience was incredible! From the start to finish it was an awesome time! We saw manta rays from the moment we got in the water. The crew (Bryce, Avery, and Ula) were phenomenal! They were constantly checking in on everyone, grabbing snacks for people and their trash, and once in the water, making sure everyone was safe and feeling comfortable. They helped people back to the boat and gave fun facts on manta rays! I would definitely recommend going on this adventure!

Don’t miss this! - Amazing tour!!! Hands down the coolest thing I have done. The mantas were unbelievable and we even saw dolphins! (which they said is rare) A must do for the big island.

Do it! It’s magical! - Do it! Even in late February the water temperature was 77° so it was comfortable to be out in the water watching the mantas for significant period of time. They literally did their barrel rolls within an inch from your face mask! Be sure to bring towels. Snacks and drinks available on board.

Excellent, with caveats - The main reason for this excursion is to see the Manta Rays in the water, and for that reason, it’s great. Such an amazing experience to see such sea life up close. With that being said, it’s not all good. First off, please take a pill for motion sickness before you go. Even if you don’t think you’ll need it. It will help make the experience better for everyone. 2nd, wear swim attire and bring towels and clothes for afterwards. Wet suits are only tops and the air is cool especially when getting out of 70° water. Lastly, the pics showed lots of people floating on blue lit water. That’s true, but the waves are rough and it wasn’t calm or easy to float for some. Overall, I highly recommend doing this. It was amazing to see the rays and dolphins inches from you. Some things caught me by surprise which is why it’s not 5 stars.

Ruff seas beware !! - Swells were very big making it really hard to hold onto the light platform. There were not enough noodles so we had to share (my husband is 6'1 and I'm 5"2) so that didn't work so well plus we were moving so much due to heavy swells. The short swim back to the boat was a little scary. We did stick it out for the full time and only saw 2 rays my daughters were a little further down and saw 3 :( All this said the crew was very very nice ...they helped my daughters get back to the boat and packed up quickly to get us back on shore. I might try this agian only if the water was like glass !!!
