Kahalu’u Beach Park - This is a small group lesson there will be a ratio of 3 students to one instructor.
Once arriving at the beach, all surfers will be sized up for gear with a foam top surfboard, reef walker surf shoes to protect your feet, and a SPF surf shirt to protect against sunburn and surf rash.
After getting outfitted with gear a hands-on demonstration will take place covering all the fundamentals of surfing, including proper technique and etiquette, the pop-up method, and a detailed onshore and in the water safety briefing.
All lessons are 2 hours total. Complimentary drinking waters will be available after each lesson.

Great private lesson! - We had a great time surfing! It ended up being a private lesson because no one else signed up for the day we did. The waves were calm at the start which helped with learning the technique. It was all at our own pace which was really nice. Beautiful clear water too with tons of fish!

Great surfing lesson - My kids (9&17y) had an awesome time! I’m so glad we booked this. The guys were great and attentive to making sure everyone was safe and able to have a wonderful experience. My 9 year old says she can’t wait to surf again! I was very pleased with the personal attention through phone and text from the moment I booked. I highly recommend this company.

Teenager approved - My teens said 10 out of 10. Max was knowledgeable and obviously knew what he was doing as both teenagers were up successfully on the 3rd try.

Amazing - This was a great experience for my kids, the instructor was AMAZING, and we all are beyond happy with the company. Yes it is a little pricey but 100% worthy.

Loved the experience - We loved our experience for our first time with surf lessons! We had Brady and Brandon and they were great coaches—we were even able to get our 3 year old on a board tandem with Brady. Highly recommend and we would do this again!

Fantastic Family Surfing Expereince - We had an amazing time with 4 kids and 2 adults and 4 instructors. Two of the smaller kids (6yo and 7yo) surfed tandem. We all had a wonderful experience and loved all of the photos after. I'd highly recommend this to anyone! Great location too!

We will be back. Mahalo Ohana - I highly recommend contacting Ohana Surf Lessons if you are interested in beginner instruction or skills advancement.
Kaleo was able to schedule our family lessons and provide explicit instructions on when and where to meet. Koa took us and another group quickly through the basics and we all hit the water promptly and Brandon did a great job setting the kids and I up. Kahalu’u has excellent surfing options an Ohana is #1 in my book.
