Surreal! - Truly breathtaking, surreal and absolutely one of the best things we have ever done. This was our second time doing this. The first time was with a different company further up north with many more people on the boat - it was meh. This with Small group and a perfect spot to see so many mantas breathtakingly up close. Wow. Just wow! Thank you Jason, Giovanna and crew for running an efficient and amazing operation.

You can't go wrong with Hawaii Oceanic and the Manta Ray Experience is amazing! - We had an amazing time with Hawaii Oceanic! I selected this company for a few reasons: Smaller group, they launch closer to the Manta location so it is just a short boat ride, they had great reviews, and if we didn't see Mantas, we could re-book with them at no charge. Only breifly saw 2 Mantas from a distance the first night at the early sunset time, but re-booked for the next night at the same time and saw several different mantas that came right up to the board and did multiple barrel rolls right in front of us. Sometimes they were so close, I thought they were going to run into us! It was nothing short of amazing!! This is a really well run experience: wet suit tops, ankle flotation, short ride to the site, easy check in, and great communication! I would highly recommend Hawaii Oceanic. Who you book with matters...Lexy, Justin, Sara, and Carmelle were wonderful! From check in, to safety, to the actual experience, it was all well done!

Magnificent Manta Rays - The manta ray snorkel was one of the most epic experiences. Totally worth it! The crew was great and being with a small group is the way to go. We saw several manta rays and they swam right up by us. It is 30 minutes of snorkeling and we saw them almost the entire time. It is an experience I’ll never forget and I would definitely do it again. We loved it.

CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS REAL - There is NO surprise that this tour has over 660 5-star reviews. 3 minute boat ride to the spot! Small group tours where you aren’t on a boat with 40+ people was super nice. This experience is beyond words and the rays shocked me with how gentle, graceful, and beautiful they are. They seriously get close to you and do touch you and it’s SO COOL! Different mantas have different personalities and our guide knew about each one of them. But this tour group sold the experience a lot for us! Sarah was our guide in the water and she was so knowledgeable, knew the names of every manta that came in, shared so many cool facts about the mantas habits, biology, history, and other facts of the ocean. She clearly loves her job and loves these mantas. I can’t believe this experience was real.

Swimming with the Mantas - What an amazing experience. Wy wife and I and another couple, all around 65 years of age, went out with the Oceanic Small Group Eco-Tour. I mention our age because our friends were hesitant to go but are now so happy that they did. We saw many huge Manta's that our tour guides knew by name, each Manta has it's own distinguishing feature(s) that helps tell them apart. The gentle giants were gliding past us, just inches away. I highly recommend this group as with the smaller number of people you can quickly get into the water and start experiencing the Mantas. I would recommend selecting a time that is after dark.

We had a GREAT time and saw 5 manta rays!! - If you're looking for a small group, short boat ride and fun, informative ship crew- this is your trip! While it's a little weird meeting up at night in a parking lot, it was a quick walk to the boat and an even quicker ride into the harbor to swim with these amazing creatures at night! It was beyond magical and I'm SO glad we did this!!

Manta Ray Night Snorkeling - Incredible! - My wife and I attended the manta ray night snorkeling with Hawaii oceanic last night and it was the most incredible adventure that we have ever been on. These creatures are so majestic and I can’t believe how close they get to you while they are feeding. To be able to see them up close with the light boards will be something I never forget. The crew (Lexy, Justin, Giovanna, and Eric) was extremely helpful and kind throughout the entire experience and we will be sure to book through them again when we come back. If you are on the fence of booking this, I’m telling you, you need to do it. Everyone should experience this at least once in their life! Worth every penny!

Must do tour! - I picked this tour company as I’m nervous in the open water and was anxious about the whole experience of snorkelling at night. The maximum group size is only 12. I was absolutely thrilled with the whole experience. It was truly magical. I felt so comfortable. The boat ride was literally only a few minutes (where I had heard others had to take a 20 minute ride and it is cold returning at night). I was required to swim maybe 5 to 10 feet entering water and not at all exiting. The staff talk to you throughout the experience about the manta rays and are able to move the board to where the manta rays are located. The rays arrived shortly after we entered the water and we were able to “meet” a number of them throughout our time in the water ( they come so close to you). If you are having second thoughts about doing the manta ray night time tour, please do not. I would highly recommend Hawaiian Oceanic!

Not as expected - Our tour was not as expected. The crew was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information on Manta Rays and what to expect. But the experience was not what we would have loved to have. We took the 6:30pm tour to watch the sunset on the boat but it was just a glance by as the sunset around this time of year happens between 6:20pm and 6:30pm. The water was too cold to not have full wets suits. We were given wet jackets but there could have been stronger suggestions to wear wet suits. If you are in cold water after sunset for 30 mins or more and just floating, you would want to be comfortable to enjoy it. We saw only one Manta Ray just swing by for a passing glance, which was a beautiful sight but not worth the value of the tour. We were not able to reschedule for another tour and were offered gift cards from Hawaii Oceanic. I do not believe it's ideal.
