Pleasantly surprised - This is a cool tour of what may sound like a bore - the technology involved, the changing setups as they experiment with technique, the surprising products they produce - all small scale! And the particular 'salty' products are tasty, varied and available for sale. Next time we'll try the foot soak! Good find! Do it!

Definitely worth the time - Who knew that a salt farm could be so interesting? Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. At the end we got to taste several of their flavored salts with various fruits and vegetables. We decided to buy the add on foot soak with magnesium. It was freezing, to say the least, but enjoyed it nonetheless. They also offer magnesium sprays and drops.

Perfect morning... - MAHALO for a wonderful experience! Ipolani our guide really lived Aloha! She was knowledgeable in Hawaiian history, patient (our only complaint is the three couples that were late - come on people!), remembered everyone's name, encouraged us to try the samples but did NOT push purchases. When she found out it was our anniversary, she was genuinely happy for us and blessed us with a small gift. Recommend going in the morning (9:00) because even then it's really warm.

Wonderful experience - Our tour was so informative and interesting. I loved the Hawaiian culture added to the tour. The tastings were amazing. It helps to taste everything before you buy. I always end up buying to much.

Thoughtful and Beautiful! - This was a beautifully done tour! The science behind the creation of their salt and the thoughtfulness to their product and the Island itself is appreciated!

Interesting salt farm tour - We were looking for something to do other than beaches & volcanoes & this turned out to be a good tour to do. Our guide was very pleasant & professional and even remembered our names right to the end of the tour(about 20 people in our tour)
She explained some history, then took us outside to show us the farm with more explanation of what was happening at very stages we saw. We then headed inside to do some tasting of the many different types of salt with fresh fruit & veggies. Really enjoyed the 1 hour experience & purchased some gifts to take home.

This tour will leave you salty in a good way! - We decided last minute to book this tour. We are so glad we did! It was a wonderful learning experience to see the craftsmanship that goes into harvesting the salt and even more importantly the spirit of ohana to preserve the culture and respect of the water and earth it comes from. One of the most peaceful places to sit and listen to the waves is located in front of the main building. Take a moment to listen to the waves and the peaceful surroundings.
We loved the tasting and left with a deep appreciation for what they do and the values they uphold. I will mostly definitely return and look forward to using my salts and magnesium drops.
Thank you for a wonderful tour, mahalo!

A Unique and Beautiful Experience on the Big Island - We had such a great time visiting the Kona Salt Farm. The tour was educational, fun, and really interesting. I had no idea how much goes into producing sea salt, and it was fascinating to learn about the process and history behind it.
The property itself is absolutely beautiful. We also got to try several of the different salts they produce, which was a fun highlight.
What made it even more special is that our friends actually got married there during our trip, and it was such a stunning venue. The setting was gorgeous and made for an unforgettable wedding.
If you’re visiting the Big Island and looking for something different than the typical snorkel or ocean activities, I highly recommend stopping here. It’s a really unique experience that not a lot of people think to do in Hawaii. The staff was wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even better.

Affordable tour, interesting process - Beautiful waterfront property and cool to see/learn how different kinds of salt are made. Short easy tour, wouldn’t recommend for anyone with walking issues as ground is uneven and various parts of tour are at varying levels through/over obstacles. Otherwise, interesting and tour guide clearly loves the company and her job. The tasting of different flavors was great, but I would recommend maybe pairing it with various drinks to enhance flavors. Just my two cents.
