Full Day...Phenomenal Day - This is a FULL day with lots of hiking...we logged over 20K steps and nearly 6 miles. This experience was amazing, culminating with a spectacular night view over the edge of the erupting Kilauea volcano. Wear hiking / walking shoes and bring layers of clothing...the range of temperatures from near freezing to warm can make this a miserable experience if not dressed appropriately. Also, plan for rain as this is a very wet area on Hawaii. You do not want to miss this great opportunity, especially if you are generally active/athletic. Would not recommend for young children, or those who are mobility limited.

Great trip. Great memory - Adam our tour guide took us to great spots. His narrative was both informative and humorous. Hiking through a volcano crater floor is definitely the highlight of the evening. We highly recommend this trip. The viator description doesn't do it justice. We did so much more than what was listed. Dinner at the Lava Cafe was delicious and the evening ended with view of live lava in one of the active crater. High recommended.

KapohoKine adventures - I booked 3 tours with KapohoKine . I was staying in Kona and was picked up for each of the tours. I was really impressed with the excellent professionalism, friendliness and depth of knowledge of all the tour guides, making my trip to the Big Island a truly memorable one. Mahalo !

Best day/ excursion on the Big Island! - My mom and I had THE BEST DAY!!! Nick was our guide for the day and was so incredibly compassionate and accommodating towards my mom when she got a bit of motion sickness. He was early to pick us up and even took us on a mini excursion to see some beautiful caves! We were so blessed with an amazing group as well! Every staff member we encountered was thoughtful and considerate. They provided lunch and made us dinner at the winery! Thank you Nick and team for ending our trip with an amazing experience!!! 100/ 10

Another Great Kapohokine Trip - Took this trip on Thanksgiving. Kapohokine always offers some unique excursions on Thanksgiving that get you away from the hotel buffet for dinner. I was excited to see a new trip when trying to book something. This did not disappoint. Lori, our guide, was very accommodating to our small group and took a few detours off the agenda to catch some additional sites. I’ve been to the Big Island many times over the years but this trip included a ton of things I’ve not seen before that I can’t wait to go back and check out again. Must do on the Island.

Not to be missed - Great, creative host. Knew how to combine stories, fun pictures, information and safe bike handling. Great companions. Enjoyed navigating alone with help along way if needed.

Unique experience - saw things we would not have seen on our own - We did the big circle tour on our last visit to Hawaii and wanted something new. Marcus was a great tour guide and was able to take us on new experiences and see new things at Volcanoes National Park. The tour is long, but it didn't feel too long. The hike down into the calder of the Volcano was fair - not too steep or unsafe...but you will encounter tree roots, mud, and uneven surfaces. It was worth the effort. Note: the description says dinner included and even states "you'll enjoy a hearty dinner before returning to your hotel". There is NO Dinner. You will be given lunch and snacks - but no dinner. I don't know if they used to have dinner....or if this is an outright typo. They need to fix the description to set expectations correctly.

Very nice but not "Adventurous" - If you want to have a nice, easy experience of many types of landscapes and geologies around the island, this is a great tour for that. The tour guides are lovely people, answer any questions you have, and show you around the island. Even though it's described as a "hike", it's more of a trail walk. Which is fine if that's what you're looking for. There's a lot of driving in the shuttle van. The winery at the end of the day is a nice little place with good, though mostly sweet wine. The buffet Hawaiian BBQ dinner is very tasty. All in all this is a good tour for a family or older couple who want to take it easy, but is not very active / physical / adventurous. You may also want to decide if you want to see flowing lava or not. There was no active lava on this tour.
