Seeing the island from a different perspective! - Really cool experience. We passed over the Kilauea volcano just as it was starting to churn up some lava. We also did a stop at a waterfall, which was gorgeous. Shane was a fantastic pilot, tour guide, and photographer! He got some great photos of our family at the waterfall. You can tell he really loves his job. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

Amazing!!! - Really great helicopter tour of The Big Island. I would highly recommend doing the option of landing near the waterfall. That piece to me made all the difference and was worth the extra cost. James was our pilot and he explained what were were looking at and also made us feel very safe. I would recommend this helicopter company for anyone who wants to do a tour.

Ours was a fantastic... - Ours was a fantastic experience that showed us many sights on the island and James told us facts about all we saw. He did well to point out things of interest and any extras like whale sightings. It was very exciting and well worth our time.

An unforgettable experience! - This trip was amazing! Our pilot, Matt, was professional and fun. His knowledge of the island was extensive. We lucked out on a beautifully clear day. The waterfall landing was well worth the extra cost. You'll never be able to see the island like this on your own, or experience anything like it. A must do when visiting the island.

Disappointed that we did... - Disappointed that we did not flyover the volcanos (due to weather), but the experience was still great and they adjusted the price based on the reduced time & sites on the itinerary. Landing by the waterfall was fantastic.

Middle of the Road - We have done a few of these during various vacations in various cities. This one is middle of the list regarding the views, but bottom of the list when considering the price. Take the tour if you can afford it, but skip it if it stretches your budget. The views during the first half were interesting to me because I am interested in the geology; various dried up lava flows and volcanos erosion, etc. The second half is of the wet side of the island with the rainforest, waterfalls, etc - some above average sights, but nothing jaw dropping. The best part of the tour was our pilot (James) and the landing experience. James was the most knowledgable pilot that I’ve ever flown with. He also had the steadiest hands by far. The landing part made this a decent tour. I probably would have been disappointed if we didn’t pay for the upgrade. Overall, I would probably do it again because my wife wanted to do it, but I wouldn’t do it again if I was with a few buddies or my kid. The Grand Canyon and Manhattan tours were much better and at less than half the cost. A round trip from KOA to Tahiti is $1,100. I mean…

Booking process was terrible. - The tour experience is awesome. The booking process was terrible. I booked two ticket for me and my husband for 8am tour. Receive two tickets to 10am tour. After I contact Viator customer service, they contacted the pilot and said that we can go with 8am tour. When we arrived at site, Blue Hawaiian Helicopter only had my reservation. They can't find my husband's booking information. We have to pay at the site to have my husband getting on board with me. It happened to other customers too.
