The adrenaline of the catch - Super exciting experience with the crew! Dean and Logan were both super knowledgeable and easy to converse with. The trip was slow until the last 30 mins where we caught a good sized wahoo and 250LB Marlin back to back. Made it all worth it and then some!

No bites but helluva day - Experience was great. Just Captain and first mate along with my family. They were knowledge and took the time to make sure we and our child knew what to do when we caught a fish. The day was beautiful. Crew was polite and easy to talk with. Unfortunately we didn't catch any fish but they damn well tried. Covered alot of ground, just nothing was bitting. Would absolutely go again with this folks.

Top-Notch Charter Even Without the Catch - We booked a 6-hour trip with Reel Escapes Hawaii on the 40’ Cabo A‘u Nui, and even though we didn’t catch anything, it was still a great day on the water. Captain Dan and Deckhand “Rooster” were both top-notch, friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. The boat was super comfortable, clean bathrooms, plenty of space to relax between runs. It’s clear they put a lot of care into the whole experience, and you can tell they know the waters well. Sometimes the fish just don’t bite, that’s part of fishing, but they gave it their all and kept the energy up the entire trip. Would absolutely book with them again. Good people, great boat, and an overall solid experience out of Kona.

January 6 hour charter amazingness!!!! - Professional, knowledgeable and fun! Outstanding day of fishing with super nice people. The boat was beautiful and clean and very comfortable. 100000% recommend.

Kansas old men - Never been out fishing on the ocean before. Captain Will and first mate Rooster were great. Caught 4 Marlins in a 6 hour trip. They were both very helpful and took the time to make sure we had a trip to remember.

Excellent Service - We did a private 6 hour fishing trip and had a great time! Brent and Jason were fun to chat with and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. We learned a ton and will definitely book them again in the future.

Incredible Charter - My family and I had an unreal experience with Brent and his Captain of the day William. They are an amazing crew filled with tons of knowledge about the island. Will definitely be back with Reel Escapes Hawaii when we come back to Big Island. If you are indecisive about which charter to choose, these guys are the “reel” deal for sure!

Hebi - This was fun, but they fish for the “big fish”, and they will try hard to find them. However, like any “fishing”, if they aren’t there or don’t bite, you will not catch them. In 6 hours, we hooked two short billed spearfish (69” long) and had a small female marlin checked out the lure, but she was too unsure and swam away. We saw a pod of pilot whales and a tiger shark named “Lavern”. We kept a small portion of our catch and were able to find a place to cook it for us. THAT was delicious! Bring sunblock and layered clothing, the weather can be unpredictable. If you get seasick, Bonine works well. They will provide small snacks and water, but if you want something else, you can bring it. There is a Texaco gas station with snack and hot foods, west of where you turn in to the marina. Have fun!!! The water is deeeeepppp!!!! And you don’t have to go too far off shore to find that out.

Very fun fishing adventure - The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable. The six hours passed quickly with conversation and views of the island coastline. We had three fish on the line and brought a very nice blue marlin up to the boat. The boat and tackle are top notch, I highly recommend this trip for a fun fishing adventure.

Great Experience-Family with Teens - Fantastic experience! You do need some patience. We had 3 teens/young adult with us and patience is not exactly their forte. It took a bit to get the first catch but then there was lots of activity. The captain did take some additional time since we got a later catch (not sure what exactly is the norm). Would 10/10 recommend!
