Guided by local, experienced dive professionals, your tour departs in the morning just a few miles from where your breathtaking dive site resides. After a safety briefing and review of the creatures likely to be encountered, enjoy a non-taxing tour of the underwater wonders near Hilo. The waters around Hilo are especially unique as the cool fresh water springs that enter the sea along the coast regulates ocean temperatures and prevents coral bleaching. Hilo’s coastline is renowned for its brackish waters and abundant sea turtle population and beautiful coral as well as a wealth of marine diversity including octopus, varied manta rays, eels and tropical reef fish. Your dive master will guide you on an incredible journey through the abundance of sea life and will ensure you have a fun and memorable experience. Discover the beauty of Hilo’s captivating reefs on a single-tank dive. Under the supervision of an expert scuba instructor, we’ll embark on a journey to some of the island’s premier diving locations. Immerse yourself in a world filled with colorful corals, a variety of tropical fish species, and our cherished Hawaiian green sea turtle native to Hilo. We provide all necessary gear and roundtrip transfers from your Hilo accommodation or cruise port. Please note that a scuba certification is mandatory to join this adventure.
- This tour is not suitable for children under the age of 10. Certified Junior Divers are permitted on this tour however all Certified Junior Divers who will not be accompanied by an adult must contact Hilo Ocean Adventures prior to booking for special consideration.
- Trip is not suitable for pregnant women, people with heart conditions, neck or back problems
- This tour requires that your last logged dive be within the last 2 years. If your last logged dive is longer than 2 years ago please book the pricing option that includes the refresher course.
- Please consider your other travel plans as it is a safety requirement that you do NOT travel to altitudes of 2500 ft or higher within an 18 hour period following your dive
- All divers must be able to show proof of Open Water Diver certification or higher upon check-in.

Best dive of my life - Our dive master Aaron was amazing. He was aware of any issues. Was helpful before during and after the dive. The dive itself was amazing. If I could do it again I would in a heartbeat. The corals, turtles, everything was amazing. I got a small wound due to the currents and Aaron made sure I was cared for and safe. If you want an amazing dive, with great sights, for a fantastic price. This is the five for you. Ask for Aaron.

Excellent dive - Did a shore dive off Leleiwi beach this weekend with Aaron. He's an excellent guide and gave us a thorough set of directions on how to enter and exit the shore, which is not for the faint of heart this time of year! We saw several turtles and lots of fish, a great experience, an adventure, and I definitely recommend this company for Hilo diving!

Spectacular day of diving - From the dive shop to the dive was flawless . They have a great new van to take you to the dive site .Forest the dive instructor was the best I have had . Very safety minded. He had the best dive briefing I had . Told us what we will see what kind of fish we will see . The role the fish play in the Hawaii reef . Did the the best buddy check before the dive . During the the dive pointed out some things and fish I had not seen before . The flat worm. After the dive great snacks and juice . Even better gave us the option to do a 2nd dive. Which was even better than the first. When in in Hilo let Hilo ocean adventure take you to the dive spots relax and they do all the work. Thanks again forest for a great day of diving. Will be back for more diving.

Great dive - Great dive! I showed up at the appointed hour to do the refresher course as it had been more than 2 years single my last dive (thanks, COVID). I've done more than 50 dives and expected the refresher to be painful but it was painless, smooth, and made me feel more comfortable than I otherwise would have been. The refresher and dive were with Dive Master Aaron. He was knowledgeable about the area, made sure I had good gear, and led an excellent dive. Went to Leleiwi and saw about 5 turtles, one of whom was at least 4ft in length. Saw quite a few eels and most of the fish on the list of "fish only seen in Hawaii." There was a swim through and a fun little loop-de-loop to dive through. Felt the dive was appropriate for my level and kept be challenged.

Great customer support and great fun - First of all I must say that the organisation was impeccable from the first contact. A great customer care and service. The equipment I rented was also very well maintained and worked as expected. Second the dives were fun and well led by the DM. I am surely going again.

Excellent Dive Experience at Sea Turtle Cove - Did a two tank shore dive at Leleiwi Beach Park which was a fantastic experience. First time ever to do a dive under those conditions and the divemaster Mark? was very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. The sea life that I seen including sea turtles made this dive experience the best I have ever done. The staff at the shop were very helpful, made sure that equipment fit properly, and made me feel welcome. Mahalo to everyone involved.

Scuba for life - My dive master was patient, knowledgable, helpful and I had a great time even with buoyancy problems 😂. Matt Leach explained everything before getting into the water… Safety, examined the perimeter, went over instructions and answered any questions.. I loved the dive and definitely would do it again!!
