This tour company will deliver - I completed an expedition to Ladakh on September 11th 2025. Surya, Amit, Rahul, Ranta and the Motorbike expedition support team were first rate. They were technically competent and genuinely caring. We were a group of 11, mostly expats and didn’t want for much during the whole trip. Minor caveat: Many of us experienced altitude sickness to varying degrees during the early high elevation days. My advice is from the perspective of a non-medical professional: start taking prescribed altitude sickness tablets as per doctor’s directions, which is about a week before the expedition start date. The tablets are near useless once you begin experiencing symptoms. Make sure your vaccinations are up tp date to be on the safe side…this is all planning advice, nothing to do with the tour company. The company carry medical oxygen cylinders and meds to deal with this as well, they are prepared for this situation. There are ways to minimise the symptoms like staying hydrated, drinking ginger tea, eating potassium rich foods, etc. Plus, you eventually acclimatise to the altitude effects as well. Okay, that out of the way, you will experience a truly breathtaking range of views. The passes are really nice. There was snow on the peaks but no ice on the roads in early september. Surya sends a list of equipment that one should bring. Very useful for planning before flying. I was one of the few people that brought a tank bag. Far more useful than saddle bags. Bring a full rainsuit just in case, i was lucky and didn’t need it. There are several creek crossings. Opt for sealed riding boots to avoid wet feet. My Tech 7s got pretty smelly from residual wetting. On our trip was included a few culural visits, skilfully weaved through the rest periods. We visited a Sikh temple, a Buddhist temple, and had some fantastic encounters with locals, including a traditional dance ritual by a group of ladies. All these were trip highlights, for both the cultural aspect (vs westerners just storming through sacred land purely to maximise our schedule) as well as striking a good balance with riding vs resting. The trip is very much focused on riding without omitting India’s long and varied history. I was pleased with how well the company integrated some historical exposure with on and off road riding. The views are genuinely amazing. I was surprised every single day at what we saw. And the RE Himalayans were up to the task. The roads are well maintained (Seriously thanks BRO). There’s regular stops to rest and replenish every day. I highly recommend this company for a great experience in Ladakh.

Motorbiking touring to new heights - We thoroughly enjoyed the 11d Himalayan motorbike tour with Motorbike Expeditions. Great crew, very professionally organized, great bikes (RE Himalayan 450cc best), fantastic scenery and mountain riding. We especially enjoyed the support of being accompanied full time by an expert mechanic and photo-/video-grapher. Travel in this region can be complex and dynamic, but the crew adapted and communicated plans very well to endure all riders enjoyed the best possible outcome. Great value. I’d recommend this tour to all bikers up for the challenge.

Live the adventure.... Motorbike Expeditions take care of everything else - I went on the 11 day tour of Ladakh with Motorbike Expeditions in Sept 25. It was an incredible experience of adventure and culture. Ladakh still has an untamed and unpredictable feel about it which added to the adventure. We rode on fresh tarmac, broken tarmac, rock and gravel tracks, off-road, through water and sand, and around and over landslides, surrounded by beautiful scenery all the way. We also visited religious sites, were entertained by local musicians and dancers, and were fortunate enough to be invited into the home of 2 brothers, living in a high mountain village, as they cooked their dinner and made us salty tea. The Motorbike Expeditions team were excellent, finding the right balance between support (road closures, permits, petrol, food stops, etc., all included in the price) and unleashing us to enjoy the adventure.....and always with a warm and friendly smile. We became one team on an incredible journey.

Dare the adventure with a professional provider of guided motorcycle tours - Despite having relatively little experience in motorcycling, no off-road experience, and no experience in group riding, I signed up for this tour. With the great support of the team around tour guide Amit, I made it to the highest drivable pass, the Umling la, by motorbike. The tour was well organized. The motorcycles were checked daily. The team created a good atmosphere and motivation. Motorbike expeditions is a professional organizer of guided motorcycle tours that I highly recommend.

They were our constant caring companions, providing probably the best local food and accommodation available. unforgettable motorcycle adventure through the himalaya - we just completed the 11-day Ladakh tour and it was truly an unbelievable experience! getting to the bus drop-off point when we landed in Delhi for the first time was a bit of a challenge but manageable with taxi. once we got to the bureau, someone from the organization met us there to assure us we were on the right bus. from the starting point at bhuntar on everything was organized smoothly, accommodations and food were often above expectations, staff very hospitable, food and rooms traditional, yet plenty catered towards more western tourism. the tour itself was outstanding. every day looks and feels completely different than the one before, the scenery is otherworldly, we spotted local wildlife, enjoyed local food at remote roadside restaurants and rode anything from twisty tarmac roads, traffic-packed town centres to challenging off-road passes and desert dunes! some confidence in riding close to (oncoming) traffic and off-road riding experience is highly recommended to be able to enjoy this tour in its full extend. the bikes were adjusted to personal preference and kept in great condition, we were constantly supplied by water, snacks and medical supplies by our backup driver, our tour guide Ujju made sure to pick the most interesting off-the-beaten-track routes with tips on how to tackle them, and how to handle the altitude, and i loved the effort and creative vision of our photographers! but what made this experience truly unforgettable was the kindness and camaraderie of our team, they were genuinely cool guys! by the end it felt less like a tour and more like an expedition shared with people we’d become real friends with. if you’re considering an adventure in india, these guys are the way to go. perfect balance between organization, flexibility and pure riding fun. truly a bucket-list trip and would book to tour with them again without hesitation.

Motorcycle tour in Ladahk, India with Motorbike Expeditions - My girlfriend and I had a great time touring Ladahk with motorbike expeditions. The roads were wild compared to what I am used to in the US. The scenery was gorgeous the entire time. Our guide Ejjwal was very organized and kept the group on schedule. He also tailored some of the routes to our preferences. The tour was supported via a back vehicle that could handle small repairs like a flat tire or fixing broken mirrors. The hotels were all very nice and the food was top notch - again, all handled by Motorbike Expeditions. The trip was well worth it.

Truly an adventure - Local team with local knowledge. This proved crucial during our trip due to landslides which which forced some reorganisation which simply made our trip more of an adventure. The trip was 'all in', literally (except alcohol which is better avoided at altitude). Food and accommodation seemed like they were the best locally available. Water was supplied in abundance (and necessary) tea breaks and all snack breaks in stunning locations. The team were our constant companions with help and advice were needed. May sound like we were a bunch of spoiled tourists (and we likely were) but there wasn't anything easy about this trip. I've done well over 1m miles on motorcycles and found the trip very challenging. Lots of very broken tar roads. Very tight twisting hairpins and very steep gradients and long days in the saddle, at ever increasing altitude. Very unpredictable road surfaces. This truly was an adventure. A fantastic experience. Tips. Wear decent gear Sharpen your riding skills (maybe a little off road practice) Do some altitude training (research) Enjoy. Thanks to ALL of the team for an outstanding experience 👏 Oy-lin an Tom Craig

On Top of the World - The Motorbike Expeditions Team provided an immaculately planned and suitably challenging route for exploring the high passes of the Himalayas in Norhern India, with superb accomodation, great food, brilliant mechanics and guides with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to adapt instantly to changes due to the unpredictable Himalayan conditions- well recommended. Was certainly a trip to remember.
