Fun and educational activity for kids - We had 4 kids signed up for the class (ages 7-11) and were wondering if the class was age appropriate and nervous about leaving them for the class. But the guide was so welcoming and wonderful. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the 3 hours of mosaic lamp making. They had fun, interacted with the coach who was a local person and other guests. They had a blast and this is one of their favorite memories of the trip.

Great souvenir for life - Place was a little hard to find but thankfully someone was at the door and helped me in. Varda was welcoming and great in explaining how to get going with the lamps. Great activity to relax and learn more about Turkish culture.

One lamp is not enough! - Following the template provided, I made my lamp according to the colours I wanted. I loved the experience so much that I continued to do a second (different shaped) lamp . Although the second lamp was more of a challenge (because of its size), I have no regrets. My instructor Gaya was very encouraging

Fun family activity! - Very engaging activity. Simple setup but very effective. This was really good fun. The lamps turned out to be very good too and are a great takeaway. Nargis was a great host too!

Great workshop recommended to anyone in Istanbul - Very nice workshop. Eren briefly explained the history of glass mosaic and then we got to work. He was kind and helped us whenever we had troubles. His colleague also provided good advise and they encouraged us. Tea and turkish delight were good and offered even to my husband that did not take part at the workshop, but waited for me. Next time. he said he would like to do it :)

I am so glad I booked... - I am so glad I booked this class, I had the best time ever!!! It was such a therapeutic experience and just what I needed to finish my trip off in Istanbul. Nargis was such a vibe, I really enjoyed getting to know her and we had a lot of fun. Onur also joined our session and he was extremely helpful as always and I enjoyed exchanging stories with him. The team at highlights is amazing, thank you for a memorable experience! If you want a few hours of relaxing away from the busy city this is the perfect activity.

Relaxing break from the city hustle - It was a very fun and relaxing workshop! Eren and his colleague guided us through the entire process of making our lamps, starting with a brief history and giving helpful tips on how to make our designs. They provided easy to follow traditional pattern templates to make sure we created something beautiful but also gave us the freedom to deviate if we so chose. We had plenty of colors to work with and were given as much time, tea, and treats as we needed while we worked.

Great experience, when you do it somewhere else - Making a mosaic lamp in Istanbul is surely a great idea, but I am totally dissatisfied with this experience: - The organization was a disaster. We arrived around 16.50, ten minutes before the starting time, and we started receiving instructions around 17.20. The people that were there before us, from the previous group, were still working. No explanation, no introduction, we were extremely disoriented... - There was a good mood, a good vibe between the participants, but the organizers are not the ones to praise for it: I don't feel like they did anything to break the ice - The big problem: I told the organizer (Eren) that I was worried about wrapping my lamp, because I had a lot of glue over the surface of the lamp. "Don't worry, nothing ever happened" he said, and he covered the lamp with layers of bubble wrap. Guess what? The plastic merged with the glue and now my lamp is all covered by plastic that I cannot remove. He took my personal number, and when I told him the problem he said I had to unwrap the lamp after a few hours (???) and that I could try things like USING A LIGHTER to burn the plastic. I felt unlistened, confused, and now my lamp is covered in pieces of plastic (it's harder to see it in a frontal picture due to the light reflection, so I posted a picture of the side)
