Additional Information

Berlin, oh, Berlin! Originating as a simple hamlet, it evolved into the heart of a powerful kingdom, then an empire, endured the gloom and segregation of the Nazi and Communist periods, and re-emerged in all its splendour as the quintessential capital of European erudition, fashion, and innovation - indeed, a location ripe with narratives!

We’ll stroll through Berlin’s historical nucleus from Alexanderplatz to the Brandenburg Gate. This journey offers a comprehensive overview of the city, shared with a small tribe of like-minded explorers under the guidance of a knowledgeable, affable local host.

Great tour - It was a very interesting and (thankfully) deeper introduction to Berlin than expected. In addition to Berlin's history, JR (or RJ? sorry I can't remember anymore) gave us great tips regarding free museums (and we did visit some of them and weren't disappointed). Be prepared that the tour does not end where it starts and it requires stamina :-)

Excellent tour with an amazing guide - What an outstanding tour! Mary was excellent and I loved all the personal stories and how she made us think. I love these tours and the fact each guide brings something different to the tour. In case Trip Advisor doesn’t allow me to do a second review I must also comment in Canadian Chris who gave an excellent tour too on Under the Swastika. Both are what your guises should be - friendly, knowledgeable and engaging.

A remarkable tour - This is a must do for any visitor to Berlin. Our guide Jules Graf was knowledgeable, fun, answered all questions and made the three hours pass quickly. My wife and I were sorry when it was over. The tour was only 3 miles long but it encompassed so many main sights of Berlin. This was a great experience.

Xavier's tour is a must-do in Berlin! - We've taken many such tours in many cities and this one, led by Xavier (with apologies for a possible name misspelling) was best, by far. Simply put, there are two necessary requirements from a tour guide - content and delivery - and Xavier is second to none in general and anecdotal history knowledge delivered in a passionate, personal way.

A great tour - Took a tour with Will who's a top tour operator, many suggestions for fun stuff to do outwith the tour (restaurants, pubs, clubs, musuems and parks) and a great sense of humour which makes things fun. Respects the more serious moments of German history and can tell he has a real passion for what hes tslking about. Took just over three hours but we had a few folk in group that struggled with amount of walking involved so could usually be done quicker i imagine. Took us round musuem island, memorial to murdered jews of europe, brandenburg gate plus many more. Guests would have option for break with coffee and toilet but we prefered to power on. Had a great time out today and defo worth the booking if looking to get to know the city! 😀
