- Tipu Sultan Fort and Palace - Bangalore KR Market - After meeting and greeting, the Govt. of India Approved and licensed guide shall accompany you and show Tipu Palace. Its a 230 year old palace, all in teak wood, and built in typical Islamic architecture, showing the diwas-e-am and diwan-e-khas. Also, a brief history of Tipu Sultan, his trysts with the French, the Anglo-Mysore wars, his contributions and controversies shall all be discussed. A visit to the Museum in the premises throws more light on how he came to be known as the Grandfather of Rocket Science in the whole world!
- Kote Venkataramana Temple - This temple is adjoining the Tipu Palace. It was built in 1690 AD by Chikkadevaraja Wodeyar and showcases wonderful stone sculptures of Indian mythological characters on its walls. The highly carved and ornate stone columns inside the temple reflect high quality workmanship of our artists. Hindu devotees have to book months in advance to offer “Kalyanotsava” (marriage ceremony of Lord Vishnu with Lakshmi) in this temple. It is said that the Garuda Gamba of this temple saved Tipu Sultan from a cannon ball attack from Cornwallis which would have otherwise fell on his palace. The next stop is the Bangalore Fort which is a 10 minute walk from here.
- Bangalore Fort - Kempegowda, the founder of Bangalore, built a mud fort in the 16th CE which was rebuilt in stone by Hyder Ali in 1760s. Only about 5% of this Fort remains and is now open to visitors. Very neatly maintained, this largely unknown monument is worth visiting.
- KR Market - If you ever wanted to see typical India in action, this is the place. There is enough and more in this Market and its environs for all your sensory organs. Vendors, workers, coolies, hawkers, buyers, cows, dogs, cylces, rickshaws, bikes, scooters, etc jostle for space with each other. Heaps of vegetables, fruits, flowers, spices, etc are found everywhere. But there is order, in this disorder! Come and experience this pulsating and throbbing Indian Market of essentials.
- Shri Adinath Jain Shwetamber Mandir - Jainism is one the oldest religions of the world, originating in India, with at least a 2500 year old history. It is in fact, a religion contemporary to Buddhism. The principle tenets of Jainism are - Non-violence and Vegetarianism. The Jain community forms less than 0.4% of India’s population but they contribute more than 24% to personal tax collections in the country. Jains own more than 28% Indian property and has the highest literacy rate at 94%. Nearly half of India’s stockbrokers are Jains. Their contribution to the success of Indian business houses is worth its weight in gold. Entry to a Jain temple is subjected to certain conditions and restrictions.

Insightful walk with an outstanding private guide. - Varun was an exceptional private guide with incredible knowledge of history, geography, and the diverse religions of the region. His storytelling was captivating . I could have listened to him all day. He brought every part of the walk to life with insight and passion. On top of that, he took great care to ensure I felt safe throughout and even helped me onto the metro for a smooth return. It was a fantastic and enriching experience. I would highly recommend booking with him.

Great day, great guide. - Amazing tour with guide trainee (she was very much a professional above trainee level) Vanaja.
She was very thoughtful about the group experience and was very accomodating to requests. She was very knowledgeable about the sites. The sites vere very well picked and gave a brief and beautiful introduction to both past and present Indian culture. I would recommend this to other travellers.

- Vanaja was our (trainee) tour guide and she warmly greeted us at Tipu Sultan's summer palace at 2:30 pm. She is a lovely lady and we enjoyed our time with her. She showed us around Bengaluru and gave us some information about the sights (Tipu's Summer Palace, Bengaluru Fort, Sri Krishnarajendra Market and Shri Adinath Jain Shwetamber Mandir). Vanaja also took us to eat and helped us navigate the busy streets and markets. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the Hindu temple Kote Sri Prasanna Venkataramana Swamy Temple as it was closed during that time, but in general, the tour was interesting and enjoyable!

Wonderful walking tour of old Bengaluru - Very polite, professional and knowledgeable guide. Very patient with the group.
Very punctual. Mr. Govinda was already at the start point 30 minutes before the start time. We reached early and could therefore start early. This is a rare virtue to be seen these days.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Throbbing Walk That Truly Brought Old Bangalore to Life! - If you’re even thinking about doing a heritage walk in Bangalore, stop scrolling and book “A Throbbing Walk through Palace/Temples/Fort/Market in Old Bangalore” right now. My friend and I recently took this tour, and it was one of the most enriching—and surprisingly entertaining—experiences we’ve had in India.
Our guide, Phaneesh, was an absolute gem. Passionate, engaging, and armed with more historical facts than a university library, he made the temples, fort, palace, and bustling markets come alive with stories, legends, and a healthy dose of humor. Every step we took felt like walking through a living, breathing chapter of Bangalore’s history.
His apprentice, Varun, was also fantastic. Not only was he sharp and inquisitive, but he also led us on a delightful side tour through Lalbagh Botanical Garden. It was the perfect contrast to the old city—a serene, green oasis filled with fascinating trees, rock formations, and vibrant local life. Varun’s knowledge of the garden’s history and plant life made the experience feel peaceful and personal.
The two of them make a stellar team. It felt more like strolling with friends than a formal tour.
What stood out the most? It wasn’t just about seeing buildings—it was about feeling the pulse of the city, understanding its roots, and connecting with its culture on a deeper level. From the spiritual calm of the temples to the organized chaos of the market. It was a sensory buffet.
This tour is a must for anyone who wants more than just pretty pictures. It’s for those who want meaningful memories. Huge thanks to Phaneesh and Varun for making our time in Bangalore unforgettable.
