- Tipu Sultan Fort and Palace - Bangalore KR Market - After meeting and greeting, the Govt. of India Approved and licensed guide shall accompany you and show Tipu Palace. Its a 230 year old palace, all in teak wood, and built in typical Islamic architecture, showing the diwas-e-am and diwan-e-khas. Also, a brief history of Tipu Sultan, his trysts with the French, the Anglo-Mysore wars, his contributions and controversies shall all be discussed. A visit to the Museum in the premises throws more light on how he came to be known as the Grandfather of Rocket Science in the whole world!
- Kote Venkataramana Temple - This temple is adjoining the Tipu Palace. It was built in 1690 AD by Chikkadevaraja Wodeyar and showcases wonderful stone sculptures of Indian mythological characters on its walls. The highly carved and ornate stone columns inside the temple reflect high quality workmanship of our artists. Hindu devotees have to book months in advance to offer “Kalyanotsava” (marriage ceremony of Lord Vishnu with Lakshmi) in this temple. It is said that the Garuda Gamba of this temple saved Tipu Sultan from a cannon ball attack from Cornwallis which would have otherwise fell on his palace. The next stop is the Bangalore Fort which is a 10 minute walk from here.
- Bangalore Fort - Kempegowda, the founder of Bangalore, built a mud fort in the 16th CE which was rebuilt in stone by Hyder Ali in 1760s. Only about 5% of this Fort remains and is now open to visitors. Very neatly maintained, this largely unknown monument is worth visiting.
- KR Market - If you ever wanted to see typical India in action, this is the place. There is enough and more in this Market and its environs for all your sensory organs. Vendors, workers, coolies, hawkers, buyers, cows, dogs, cylces, rickshaws, bikes, scooters, etc jostle for space with each other. Heaps of vegetables, fruits, flowers, spices, etc are found everywhere. But there is order, in this disorder! Come and experience this pulsating and throbbing Indian Market of essentials.
- Shri Adinath Jain Shwetamber Mandir - Jainism is one the oldest religions of the world, originating in India, with at least a 2500 year old history. It is in fact, a religion contemporary to Buddhism. The principle tenets of Jainism are - Non-violence and Vegetarianism. The Jain community forms less than 0.4% of India’s population but they contribute more than 24% to personal tax collections in the country. Jains own more than 28% Indian property and has the highest literacy rate at 94%. Nearly half of India’s stockbrokers are Jains. Their contribution to the success of Indian business houses is worth its weight in gold. Entry to a Jain temple is subjected to certain conditions and restrictions.

Excellent historic and local morning tour - We had a fantastic tour with Vanaja, which helped us get a true feel for Bangalore, together with learning about important historical sights. We visited the fort, two temples, a local market and more. Vanaja was very knowledgeable, humorous and kind. She took us to a great place to sample some Karnaraka-style coffee, which we really appreciated. Also have good advice for what to do with our afternoon. Highly recommended!

Bangalore City Walk - 23rd Dec, 2025 - Raghu and Vanaja were excellent guides who patiently showed us the Venkatwshwara temple, Tipu Sultan summer palace, Dort, flower and vegetable market and finally Jain temple.
Raghu answered our questions patiently and was honest to let us know that he didn’t know answers to some questions we’d ask.
Overall a gracious, knowledgeable and kind couple and it was time well spent for our family.
Would highly recommend for your tours.

One of the best human experiences I have encountered on my travels - This was not just a tour, this was an experience that has left me with memories I will never forget. The warmth of Vanaja and Raghu; how they took care of me as a solo traveller; the sights and the stories they share about the Indian culture; how they navigated us through the beautifully crazy market and took pictures of and with us. We laughed, we connected, we lost track of time. One of the best human experiences I have encountered on my travels. Thank you!

GREAT tour - highly recommend! - Vanaja and Raghu were fantastic guides. Very knowledgeable about all of the sites and took the time to take photos for anyone that wanted them at each stop. At the end of the day we even had a bonus stop into a temple to see a ritual performed for Vishnu.
I would highly recommend Bangalore & Beyond if you want more than just a standard tour. It was truly an EXPERIENCE that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Thank you, Vanaja and Raghu!

Great tour experience in old town Bengaluru - I had a great experience visiting Old Town Bengaluru with the tour. We saw multiple spots all by foot. I specifically enjoyed all the beauty and chaos of the markets. The experience felt very authentic. This is a family owned business and they truly cared about my safety and happiness. The tour in total took 4+ hours. They took us to multiple historical sites, temples, markets and food spots. I highly recommend the tour!

Only had a few hours during a recent work trip and wanted to see some of the main historical and cultural parts of Bangalore and this tour was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend Vijay as a tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and engaging and went above and beyond.
