An Unforgettable Food Tour Through Historic Malleswaram - I had the absolute pleasure of joining a food tour led by Vanaja, and it was one of the highlights of my time in Bangalore. Getting to explore Malleswaram with someone who is truly local to the neighborhood made all the difference. As one of the city’s most historic areas, Malleswaram is full of character—leafy streets, well-maintained sidewalks, and vibrant shops with bright awnings. Along the way, we passed vendors selling fragrant flower garlands and colorful spices, and I found myself wishing I had an entire afternoon just to wander through the shops and temples.
Of course, no visit would be complete without making time for the food. From perfectly crisp dosas to soft, comforting idlis, every stop felt thoughtfully chosen and deeply authentic. Vanaja didn’t just guide me to great places—she shared context, traditions, and stories that brought each bite to life.
What stood out most, however, was Vanaja herself. She was warm, attentive, and consistently mindful of my safety, which allowed me to relax and fully immerse myself in the experience. Whether navigating busy streets or ensuring I was comfortable at each stop, she struck the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine hospitality.
If you’re looking for a way to experience Bangalore beyond the surface, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Exploring Malleswaram with a knowledgeable local like Vanaja transforms a simple food outing into a meaningful cultural experience. I left with a full stomach, a deeper appreciation for the neighborhood, and the feeling that I had spent the day with a trusted friend rather than just a guide.
