Halebidu and Belur - understand our culture and past, to make us proud - The temple of Belur and Halebidu are our cultural heritage sites. One must go to each of them for a full day to spend. We engaged the official guide and when they understand our interest, they also get energy to explain. Each tile, each carving has a story to tell. One gets astonished at the intricacy of carving with minute details. Also worth to see the the latest fashion and trends were known and showed with details. Who can imagine the ladies wear stocking, the child using straw to drink and the tread of non skid tyres carved on a wheel. Must visit with interest and time to spare.

Solo traveler - Really recommend taking this trip and see these temples. The driver and the guide provided great service and made this trip very smooth. I would recommend doing some pre study of Hinduism to get the most out of the tour since there is a lot of information provided. Of course everything was explained (I.e. it was not expected that I had previous knowledge) but receiving this much information at once may be overwhelming for some. Lunch was good, the car was very good with AC and I felt safe. Thank you for sharing your culture and history.

The family getaway wonder. - Not very far off from Bangalore, this architectural site is a marvel, not to be missed. Though it is sad to see the ruins & broken sculptures , one would still be amazed at the work done by a by gone era. Though it was a bit crowded when we went on a Sunday, Halebid is cleaner. Guides are available to answer your questions for a price.

Couldn't be better - Hoysaleshwara and Belur temples are among the greatest masterpieces of Hindu architecture, with incredibly detailed carvings instead of being monumental. The whole trip was spot on: - starting with the guide, who explained the meanings of those carvings as well as immerse me into the hindu religious habits - ending with the very polite and friemdly driver Breakfast and lunch offered in local restaurants were also excellent.

Beautiful Sculptures - The temples at Halebid and Belur are just magnificent! The intricate carvings left us spellbound. While elements have damaged the sculptures somewhat, these are still very impressive. ASI has done a decent job in beautifying the the whole complex and it is reasonably clean. Worth a visit for anybody looking for great architecture and sculptures.

An exceptional experience with FiveSenses Tours at Belur and Halebidu - We had the most amazing day exploring the architectural wonders of Belur and Halebidu thanks to our incredible driver Mr. Mohan and tour guide Mr. Hegde. Mr. Mohan was professional, courteous, and extremely skilled at navigating traffic which made our journey stress free. Mohan pointed out interesting landmarks along the way which made our journey informative and truly unforgettable. Our tour guide Mr. Hegde was very knowledgeable about the history, art, architecture, and culture behind the temples. He brought the intricate carving and sculptures to life with detailed storytelling highlighting the royal members involved from the Hoysala dynasty. They coordinated perfectly to ensure that we had ample time at each site and helped us find great spots for lunch, and refreshments.

An incredible day out. - The tour was very informative. I would highly recommend it. The temples were phenomenal. They exceeded my expectations. The driver picked me up on time for the 4 hour drive to Belur. We stopped and had a fabulous local breakfast with the famous south Indian filtered coffee (and very clean western style WCs). The driver was very safe and as I was a solo traveller he took some fabulous photos for me. Our guide was engaging and incredibly knowledgable. I called him the Pied Piper because a large group of local school children were fascinated with his expertise and charm. The children were delightful. We had another beautiful vegetarian meal in Belur at a local hotel - paneer, dahl and chiabati. After lunch we went to the second temple. Both were mesmerising in scale and beauty.
