Excellent Day Trip and Tour Guide, Highly Recommend! - Our group of 6 friends did the Xunantunich and Cave Tubing combo tour and had an incredible experience! It was a long day with lots of driving, but it was well worth it and our guide Israel was excellent! We were picked up from our house in Placencia first thing in the morning and Israel provided lots of commentary and history around landmarks and Belize overall on our drive out. There was another group doing the same tour on the same day, but rather than squeeze us all into one van, we had our own van which made it essentially a private tour! The van itself was brand new, we were the first ones to ride in it. The tour itself was great - the ruins were a pleasant surprise with how much we enjoyed them. The climb up to the top of the ruins is particularly impressive. The lunch spot was fantastic - the food was delicious and we felt like we got a great "authentic" meal. Cave Tubing was the highlight for sure - after a 25 min walk into the jungle, we got on the river and had an incredible time taking in the cave and the views! Other groups we saw had to carry their own tubes for the 25 min walk - Israel was able to hook it up so the tubes were waiting for us when we got to the entry point so didn't have to carry anything! Israel even had some drinks ready for us in the van after we got out to celebrate the end of an awesome day. I certainly plan to look into other tours with Truly Wild Belize when we hopefully return to Belize again one day!

An Experience You Will Never Forgot - I have been on many guided tours but Israel is by far the most patient, knowledgeable, and thorough guide. He thinks of every detail so you can just relax and enjoy your trip. We started at the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich where we were taught about the various chambers and temples. Even about the local vegetation! We had an excellent lunch which Israel had the foresight to call ahead to diminish our wait time. Then he drove us to a wonderful cave tubing location. I have taken a similar tour and the guide chose the closest cave which was not nearly as beautiful. Israel took the time to make sure our experience was exceptional and chose a further location but boy was it worth it! He took us slowly through the caves allowing our senses to drink in every wonder…it was beautiful. On our drive back he made us rum punch and patiently endured our constant chatter. We thoroughly enjoyed our tor and are so grateful for the family memories we made with the help of this exceptional guide.

Amazing day - Amazing day with our tour guide Wilder. So informative on Mayan culture. Our 8 year old completely everything easily. The stairs on the Mayan temple were steep so if you had a child that won't follow directions, you could stay at the base and not climb to the top. Cave tubing had a minimum height of 40 inches posted. Best day yet.

This is a must-do. - Jonathan was our guide and he was fun, easygoing, and very knowledgeable about Belize, Mayan history, local flora and fauna. We learned a lot which added to the adventure. It’s a long drive from Placencia, but seeing the country was worth it. Crossing a river on a hand-cranked ferry (they let me crank it!), climbing the pyramid, a delicious lunch, and amazing cave floating and the short jungle hike were all memorable.

What an Epic Day! - We had an absolutely epic day visiting the sacred ruins of Xunantunich in the morning, followed by a delicious lunch and cave tubing in the afternoon. Jonathan was our guide and he was warm and friendly, professional and so knowledgeable. We were so lucky to have him all to ourselves for the entire day. The ruins are spectacular and Jonathan taught us so much about the Mayan culture and history. Cave tubing was the icing on the cake. I wasn't sure how I would feel about tubing through caves, but it turns out I loved it! The caves are beautiful and the current is slow so you wind through the system for about an hour looking at the sights with your provided headlamps. When you exit the cave you end with some really peaceful and scenic river tubing. It is a long day but so worth it. Highly recommend! It was an awesome day!
