Outstanding Adventure - I highly recommend this tour. In addition to detailed information about the site and its history, our guide, Damian, an ethnic Mayan, shared information about the culture and regional plants and animals. But first, he conquered the rugged terrain that must be driven to reach the site. If you want an incredible experience, this local, family run company is the way to go.

Perfect choice for families - Our second trip to Belize and once again we depended on CMA for tour and transportation needs. Wilton, the son, does all the bookings and Damian and his crew are most knowledgeable and provide safe experiences. Most trustworthy and accommodating. These are private tours and very fairly priced. Highly recommend them.

Best Tour of Our Vacation! Highly Recommend!! - I can't say enough positive things about this tour! Damien was the BEST local tour guide my husband and I could have hoped for on our honeymoon. Not only did he provide a wealth of information about the ruins but also told us the history of the land, landscape, and culture. He had an answer for all of our questions and was also the best driver! We would highly recommend this tour company to anyone traveling to Belize for the first time or anytime!

Interesting Tours with Excellent Guides, - Augusto and his brother Damien were very friendly and knowledgeable guides. Augusto took us to the Caracol Maya ruins. He managed the drive on the challenging road with ease and even spotted a number of wildlife on the way. We were lucky enough to see Scarlet Macaws, Crested Guans, a crocodile and howler monkeys along the road. Augusto filled us with facts and information on the Mayan civilization as we toured through the massive ruins at Caracol. Along the journey Augusto answered our many questions on Belize in general. Damien was our driver and guide to Barton Creek Cave via a traditional Mennonite village. The canoe trip into the cave was interesting learning about the Mayan rituals performed for the underworld gods. Damien was well organized with all the equipment needed for the excursion in the canoe. All in all touring with this company is highly recommended.

A really good day! - Took this tour with CMA and I am glad I did. the whole day was very professional, I was picked up on time in a spotless 4runner, lunch and drinks were already onboard. After Agusto did a brief outline of the days itinerary and making sure I had all the items I might need we took off. Agusto is incredibly knowledgeable about his country's flora and fauna not to mention a deep knowledge of its history. I was the only guest so I had 8 hrs of one on one and I learned a lot, even after 40 plus trips to Belize. Time and money well spent!

You can't go wrong with CMA! - We used CMA for multiple tours this week for us and our children. Augusto was was our guy for Carocol and he was as awesome as the places we visited. He knew everything about everything and it was really enjoyable just driving with him all day. He's a birder himself so he's always looking for and pointing out birds. We saw Trogans, warblers, oropendola Montezuma's, and a flock of more than 20 scarlet macaws. Augusto noticed the macaws on the way back from Carocol and stopped the van so we could use his binoculars to see them. He gave us two options while at Carocol. The long way, which let's us see more things and puts us at the main temple around noon. Or the short way which let's us avoid climbing the big temple in the heat. We chose the long way and literally had the main section to ourselves when we got there. It was amazing. Augusto knew about the animals, the foliage, and the Mayans and his tour was incredible. He was also super patient and kind. We swam at the waterfall at the end of the day for two hours. We didn't realize quite how long we were there at the time cuz it was such a great experience. But it was also the end of his long day and if we left on time like normal people he could have gotten back to his family. But we didn't and he just sat on the rocks in the shade until we were done. 100% recommend these guys! You'll be in excellent hands.

A step back into Ancient Mayan Culture - The Mayan world continues to amaze and delight us with the technology they possessed thousands of years ago. Caracol boasts an astronomical center where the buildings are positioned in accordance with the Sun's traverse throughout the year. Thousands of years before Columbus set off to prove the world was not flat, this civilization understood the Earth's axel rotation in such detail as to position these structures specifically to showcase the rising sun at the various solstice and equinox days. Damian, a Mayan himself, brings this understanding to life on this amazing tour. The positioning of doorways and passages was also shown to provide "air conditioning" on the warm days. All these little details are carefully explained as we get a glimpse into life all those years ago. After our tour, we were treated to a wonderful picnic lunch, then off to Rio On Pools to cool off on the way back! NOTE: Bring water shoes to really enjoy the cool pools. The entry into these beautiful, natural pools can be a bit slippery. There are nice (and clean!) changing rooms on site.

Great experience! Thank you, CMAT and Damian! - Our family traveled to Belize in August, 2021, and we would not have had such an amazing trip without the great planning from classic Maya adventure tours - especially our guide, Damien! I did not have time to do really much research at all, but sent a few ideas via email on what I thought our family might like. Shortly after, I received a full agenda that absolutely hit the mark. The team knew exactly which events to pair on which days based on location and time needed at each site. Damian is extremely knowledgeable, not just in everything Mayan, but also plants, animals, geology, geography, sociology and cultures - you name it, he knew it all! All of us (even our four teens and preteens) learned quite a bit on the trip! There is absolutely no way we could have done this trip on our own in a rental car; paved roads and streets signs are few and far between, but Damian drove us everywhere in the company van so we did not even have to worry about getting around. Finally, a huge shout out to Damian‘s wife - who we never even met – but she made amazing stews for our lunches each day, which my husband has (unsuccessfully) tried to re-create ever since.
