Don’t miss this excursion! It’s amazing.. - We booked this tour outside of our cruise. Took a chance and it paid off. It started off a little rough (little direction and left late) but honestly the river portion exceeded our expectations and the ruins blew us away. We loved our guides and ended up on a private tour which was amazing.

Awesome experience!!! - Garrett and his crew were wonderful. We were met at the cruise terminal and driven to the Radisson Hotel pier where we waited for our guide. A short walk across the street to the Radisson hotel there was a small outdoor cafe and restrooms. Our tour started a 1/2 hour before scheduled. We were provided with a cold bottle of water and there were also beverages (Belizean beer, water, and soda) sold at the pier. The river tour was amazing the crew made sure to point out and talk about all the wildlife. We saw Manatees, Howler Monkeys, Crocodiles, Iguanas, and even Dolphins so close to the boat you could have touched them. They made sure to point out and talk about all the different birds we saw as well as the different plants and trees. Then we were picked up at a dock on the river and rode in an air conditioned van to Altun Ha. The entire way there Garrett pointed out many different aspects of living in Belize. This was my second time to Altun Ha the first time was booked with the cruise ship I was on. This was a much more personalized tour than that one. Also when we booked with the cruise ship we were walked through a marketplace full of pushy people trying to sell things. Garrett and his crew made sure to keep us from this area I'm sure we could have went if we wanted to but we didn't want to. After the tour we returned to Belize city with plenty of time to shop the cruise port. Overall this was a very informative tour and the guides were more than willing to explain their culture and tried helping us understand creole! My wife was worried booking with a company outside of the cruise line but was put at ease with how the guides paid close attention to time in order to get us back to the port in plenty of time.

High Up - What a fab trip from P and O Ventura Everything went smooth with a great tour guide, lots of info and a good look at Belize The visit to Altan Ha was brill with plenty of time to clamber up temples etc and then lunch and a fabtetric river ride down river and back to the port. Fast going for sure as we crammed lots in but the Old girl was thrilled to see monkeys, Salties and 6 manatee.

Well worth the time. - On the river ride part of the tour, Clayton was very knowledgeable on the wildlife. We were able to see the manatees, crocodiles and iguanas as promised. We also saw a couple of dolphins and some large game fish breaking the water's surface. We also saw plenty of water fowl. Clayton was also able to give us information on different land masses we went by. The ruins at Altun Ha were quite wondrous to behold. It was quite amazing standing there thinking how the Mayans must have lived. Derrick was quite experienced and familiar with the site. However, his driving leaves a lot to be desired.

We enjoyed the ruins but... - We enjoyed the ruins but didn't get to do the river wallace and Manatee watch. This was a huge disappointment. Our guide was good and gave us a tour of the island but still disappointed.

No Altun Ha Mayan Ruins - Never got to take it. The tour was canceled the previous day so they asked if I could come back the following day. I said yes and came back the next day,. The tour was canceled again. I asked when it was scheduled again. They did not know and could not assure me the tour would proceed even If I booked again. I was offered another tour which I took(no real choice). Not what I wanted but the guide and boat captain made it interesting, informativeand enjoyable. Saved the experience fom being completely terrible. Still have to find another day and an Altun Ha Mayan Ruins tour.

Becareful if restricted abilities - When we booked this tour we were informed it was wheelchair accessible. NOT You have to somehow get into a little boat, fishing boat size, bobbing up and down in the Caribbean Sea. You have to go across the sea to get to the river. We had to leave three people behind due to the ability to get into the boat. The boat ride down the river was interesting we did see a lot of wildlife Then we transferred to a van. The driver was reckless. Driving 70 miles an hour weaving in and out of traffic, down very unsafe roads. It was like being on a 45 minute roller coaster ride from hell I seriously considered finding another way back from the ruins. It will be a tour I will never forget, but not for the right reasons Our people that got left behind did not get a refund. Actually when asked at the ruins if they were brought by bus, the guide actually did not realize they were not on the tour. Very unprofessional they did lot even keep count

Altun Ha with NO River Wallace and No Manatee Watch Tour! DON'T DO IT! - The trip started late while a van drove around town trying to find additional clients/victims. We were dropped at a dock with old breaking, paint-chipped benches to wait. We toured the Mayan Ruins, but the River and Manatee Watch tour was cancelled. They said it was cancelled because the water was rough, but there were several boats that we passed on the river that were touring. We chose to do a small group tour instead of the cruise tour and that was a bad decision. This tour group is very unorganized, ill-prepared, and not the experience that we wanted. We were offered a rum tour as a substitute, but no refund or partial refund was available. The other couple with us only booked the Mayan Ruins and paid less than half of what we paid and had the same tour.
