Now My Heart Will Go On and On and On - Prior to visiting the Titanic exhibition I knew a little bit abut the history of the "unsinkable ship". I knew it was at the bottom of the ocean and had hit an iceberg and that the last port it called at was at Queenstown (now called Cobh) which is not far from Cork. I've also seen the movie "Titanic" and quite frankly I don't know why Rose could not have moved across a bit to let Jack get on the floating debris with her but then we would not have the tragic love story (!) Whilst in Belfast I decided to pay a visit to the Titanic exhibition and I am very glad I did. On the journey you get to find out about the terrible working conditions that the people involved in the construction of this mighty ship endured. Health & Safety was not a factor back in the day! As well as this you also get to learn about the journey the ship took and what it was like for people in the different classes of the boat. Finally there is the chapter of accidents that led to the ship hitting the iceberg and the terrible things that happened afterwards where two thirds of the people on the ship died. At the end of the exhibition there is a place where you can recreate that famous moment in the movie. I was on my own so had no desire to stand there with my arms outstretched. There is a very good gift shop with plenty of different souvenirs to be purchased relating to Harland & Wolff, The White Star Line and the ship itself. Afterwards make sure you head over to see the SS Nomadic which is the last remaining ship belonging to the White Star Line still in existence. Very educational and informative.

Fantastic - First time to Belfast , after seeing the Liverpool titanic museum we decided we had to see the real one ! It was fantastic, really informative , we did the self guided tour and learned an awful lot Only 1 regret , we should have asked for the audio , didn’t know what it was before hand not really offered to us and regret it as I thing there was probably more we didn’t learn Great experience

One of the best things to see and do in Belfast - This museum/experience is so wonderful that I’ve stopped in twice (and will probably go back again). My first visit was a self-guided tour and my second visit included the guided tour option. Both experiences were wonderful and it really just depends on how much money you’re looking to spend and how much time you have in the area. If you’re a Titanic fanatic and can fit it into your schedule, I would absolutely recommend going for the extended option that includes a guided tour at the start. Otherwise, it is still all too easy to spend 90-120 minutes exploring the exhibits on your own.

Experience of a lifetime - Tickets were easy to use no waiting called to ticket booth who issued me with tickets directed to entry everything else was an unique experience All staff were superb only downside cafe was small and quite expensive but this was trivial compared to a brilliant and informative day out. I would highly recommend

Lots to learn and pulls on the heartstrings! - It's definitely worth a visit. Informative and interactive. Lots to do there and plenty to learn about the local area history and the building of the Titanic. Also, it is very emotional as you learn of the tragedy.

Very impressive! - Quite impressive! It is a massive museum and can take a good couple of hours to visit it. The museum uses different types of technologies and artifacts to tell the story around the construction and destruction of The Titanic. Fully recommendable!

One of the premier Titanic sites to visit! - One of the premier Titanic sites to visit in the world, situated next to the very slipway where the ship was constructed. The building itself is very iconic, and upon entering a massive atrium you are able to view directly up the expanse. Interestingly, whilst it does suggest purchasing a ticket online online before visiting they do also sell tickets inside the venue (I'm assuming it does get quite busy during the peak months of summer which is why they advertise purchasing a ticket in advance). I reported to the ticket desks to the left on entering and got the audio guide that I purchased following which I was directed over to the escalators in the centre to take me up the first floor where the experience begins. The audio guide actually starts in the atrium before going in and viewing the exhibition areas. It helps explain the experience and also the symbolism of the dial on the floor of the atrium space. The exhibition areas start off with the context to the development of Belfast as a port city, construction of the various docks and development of Harland and Wolf ship builders. This isn't in massive detail, rather only comprising of one area of the visitor journey, but is important to understanding the context to how it was possible to build the Titanic. From here there is a section on the design of the ship, how it was planned out and the processes involved for this to be a success. A larger section waits next about the construction of the ship before and prior to fitting out (i.e lunch of the ship). This section is quite large and focuses on a short dark-ride to help give the scope of the project and working conditions for the welders, apprentices and riggers. Its a novel experience as you tour round. There is also plenty of audio visual guides to help explain things. The fitting out section talks of the different cabin classes and furnishings to the lunch of the ship itself before its journey. The journey whilst mentioned isn't featured in a lot of detail, with some emphasis on the press reports and reception from the public and passengers. Next comes the sinking of the ship, which is quite abrupt and explained very matter of fact with some audio provided from passengers that survived the sinking describing their own experiences of the disaster. From here there is coverage of new reports and initial confusion of the sinking. The mood in this section of the exhibition is quite sombre. The final areas are when you head down to the bottom of the building, to explore the discovery of the Titanic years later and the and efforts involved to achieve this and its significance since. The shop has a good variety of Titanic products on sale, some of which is not seriously overpriced. There is also a café and restaurant which is however. In summary, its worth the price of the ticket. Lots of audio and visual effects are used to help shape the feel of the experience to great success. Some parts I did want a little more from but the experience suffices in what it achieves none the less.

Well worth the couple of hours. - An interesting visit, took about 2 hours. My 14 year old son enjoyed it, especially the ride, but he also loved reading about those onboard. Probably not for young kids, too much reading, but good for anyone with some interest in the history of the time and the sinking. We got the audio guides, found the signs indicating what episode to listen too a little difficult to find, especially nearing the end when they seemed to disappear completely so ended up listening ahead and out of order.

Did not meet the hype - I was not blown away like so many people. I found it confusing from the start talking about the making of linen. I wish there would have been a layout of how they were presenting this exhibit. I also wanted more of an experience and not just reading boards. I really wanted to like this and it really fell flat for me. Also, we just showed up without pre purchasing online tickets because it showed it wasn’t busy. The young man at the ticket window told us the next available time slot was 3:20 (we arrived at 2:10) but we were there so we purchased a ticket and sat and waited outside. I checked online again and there were several time slots before 3:20 available. Not impressed with this at all.

Good but not great - First of all I did enjoy the experience , The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful , I just thought, although I understand , there was too much on the building of the ship , The directions from part to part were confusing , you have to check every part , I also feel that a little more of actual artefacts from Titanic would of been very beneficial, it was good but could of been great ,
