Additional Information

COMPREHENSIVE 3 HOUR POLITICAL MURAL HISTORY WALK Every city has its markets and café scene, but Belfast distinguishes itself with its unique history, emerging after three decades of strife. Your tour guides are the original cab drivers who navigated their communities through the gunfire and bombings during THE TROUBLES, risking their lives each time they stepped into their black taxis.

Northern Ireland is noted for its murals painted across nearly every part of the country. Images of IRA and UVF wall paintings are regularly broadcast worldwide on news channels or used as backgrounds during interviews. They frequently illustrate the history and political perspectives of both factions and are a method for marking territory. These mural paintings might appear daunting, but they have become as popular a tourist draw as many other sights in and around Belfast.

Wonderful! - Our driver Damien was excellent. Funny, witty and had great knowledge of Belfast. Did not initially think of doing a tour - so glad we did! As a wheelchair user I was treated as equal to all other passengers - unusual in this day and age!

Great information about the history of Belfast! - This tour was included with our Wild Rover Tour, so we were touring for about an 1hr 30mins, but we were still able to learn many about the history of Belfast from Pat, who had experienced much of the history. He explained the conflicts within Belfast in the past and drove us around the city as he gave us such information. My family very much enjoyed this tour, and Pat was such a kind and wise guy!

A wonderful insight into "The Troubles" in Belfast - Issac showed a bunch of 5 Australians around the city and clearly explained the history of the conflict within Belfast (& Ireland). He was very fair and balanced in his opinions and none of our group could determine if he was Catholic or Protestant, such was his objectivity. It was a very confronting to hear the stories behind The Troubles and also very informative. We all left the tour far more well informed than when we commenced. I would highly recommend this tour as must do if you are ever in Belfast.

Brilliant - Driver was very welcoming. Great few hours and learnt so much. Lasted a little longer then we expected, but that was good because he explained even more to us.
