An invitation to embark on an unforgettable journey.

Explore the complex history of Belfast through a candid political tour led by Republican and Loyalist former political prisoners. Uncover facets of Belfast absent from traditional guidebooks. We ask you to navigate the city streets on either side of the Peace Wall and listen to individuals who were jailed in Northern Ireland for defending their principles. These Republican and Loyalist ex-prisoners will reveal their personal narratives and discuss the impact on their communities, and provide an understanding of the murals that narrate the local history and culture of each region. This is the only tour that presents two distinct perspectives on ‘The Troubles’ as you traverse the neighborhoods of West Belfast. Proceeds from the tour contribute to local cross-community children’s initiatives.

Immersed in the Troubles - This was a superb immersive experience into the Troubles and their antecedents and aftermath through people on both sides of the divide who lived through them. The Falls Road was a bit noisy and tended to make the guide's voice indistinct on occasions. Excellent value for money.

Irish reconciliation British retaliation - Robert was AMAZING. His knowledge and experience made the tour very informative and his perspective was uplifting and encouraging. Mark's perspective was entirely one-sided with no understanding of history before his own experience. His choice of language portrayed a culture of hatred.

A must do - It's surreal to hear the same story from two distinctly different sides, if a little sobering. Wherever you land it is a learning experience.

Experience both side of the troubles - What a great experience - receiving the conflicting views presented by each side of the conflict was very insightful and thought provoking - a must if you are in Belfast

Saoirse - Recommended tour when in Belfast. A better option than a Black Cab tour in my opinion as you get to hear both sided and have a group to ask questions and converse. Many thanks to all. Saoirse for all.

Brilliant, insightful, honest - Tour was second to none, very insightful and thought provoking. Both tour guides gave their perspective and their truth based on experience from living with 30 years of conflict. A huge thanks to Paul & Mark for their time and for sharing their experiences.

Thought Provoking Journey - This gives you an insight into the loyalist and nationalist sides of West Belfast. The walk starts at the infamous Divis Flats in nationalist West Belfast where your guide is a former combatant so as you expect has seen the Troubles at close hand. Paul the guide is an engaging man showing you the key locations around the Falls Road such as the murals, conflict with the security forces and gardens of remembrance for nationalist combatants. The second part of the tour is in loyalist West Belfast with our guide Mark an ex British combatant. It was good to see that the two shook hands. Mark gave us more a series of talks about the current and past situation for the loyalist population. He concentrated on the attacks on his community pointing out sites of attacks and the current political situation in Northern Ireland. The only things to remember are that each guide speaks from their past so please bear that in mind. We should remember that every death left a family with an unfillable regardless of the side of the peace wall you live on.

A powerful insight into ‘the troubles’ - It was really enlightening to hear 2 different views of the same situation. Both your guides were powerrful in different ways. We came to understand and left with more knowledge and also more confusion! We left feeling the troubles were far from over.
