Additional Information

The tumultuous era of the IRA, UVF, UFF and the Irish and British conflict, is recounted by a local guide who personally witnessed these harrowing times. Every city has its own unique shopping and coffee culture, and Belfast is no exception, emerging from a period of 30 years of unrest. The guides who will take you through this journey are the very same drivers who braved the threats of paramilitary violence during THE TROUBLES, risking their lives each time they drove their black cabs.

Northern Ireland has become renowned for the murals that adorn almost every corner of the country. These emblems of the IRA and UVF are often broadcast worldwide on news channels, or utilized as backdrops during interviews. These murals frequently represent the historical and political perspectives of both sides, often used to mark territory. Despite their initial imposing appearance, these works of art have become tourist attractions in their own right, drawing visitors to Belfast and other locations.

Very informative & thought provoking. Well worth the cost!! - The trip was very thought provoking & informative and the driver made it fun considering the very serious subject matter. The driver was down to earth friendly and definitely knew his stuff! He gave a very concise overview of the situation whilst maintaining a very neutral/non biased opinion. He welcomed questions and we certainly asked plenty. We would totally recommend this tour.

Fantastic! Highly recommend. - We did the black taxi political mural tour of Belfast. We have just spent 6 week overseas and this tour was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. Brendan who was our driver had so much personal knowledge and passion having grown up in West Belfast. He was so warm and personable and shared so much with us. I have a strong interest in this period of time and I loved this tour. It was brilliant.

Fascinating tour og the Shankhill and Falls Road areas. - John (JR) was very informative. Challenging some of our perceptions of the past and present. Fascinating. Returned home ready to read more about it. Signed the peace wall. Plenty of opportunity to get out of the taxi and see the murals up close.
