  • Falls Road - The Falls Road is the heart of Republicanism and the birth Place of the modern IRA who fought the British army on these streets that you will visit. The Belfast Brigade was one of the first active units of the Provisional IRA, after the split in the IRA in late 1969. In the aftermath of the 1969 Northern Ireland riots, many republicans in Belfast felt that the IRA had let down the city’s Catholic and nationalist community by failing to prevent the assault and burning of Catholic streets by loyalists. Billy McKee accused Billy McMillen, the IRA’s Belfast commander, and the Dublin-based IRA leadership, of having failed to provide arms.

On 22 September, McKee and a number of other IRA men, arrived armed at a meeting called by McMillen and tried to oust him as head of the Belfast IRA. First Hand History of The Troubles - David took us on an incredible and historical journey from his first hand experiences during The Troubles. His personal history and knowledge is not something that can be replicated. The tour was emotionally touching. We appreciated his focus on how much more peace exists now, and the positive interactions between younger generations whose families were previously divided.

A very well done and informative tour - Sean Mc took us on the black taxi tour around Belfast and told us all about the troubles and living through it. The tour was very informative and respectfully done telling both sides, although he clearly suffered growing up through it he was able to share his stories without any anger (not sure I could do the same). A must do when visiting Belfast.

The Best Tour in Ireland - We took a family trip to Ireland, and this tour was the highlight of our trip. Our children were born after the Good Friday Agreement, and this tour introduced them to the challenges the people of Belfast faced in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Brendan was our driver, and he did an amazing job bringing the history of Belfast to life. He grew up in Belfast, and his experiences made our tour much more personal. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who visits Ireland.

Very real, very personal. - A superb Black Cab Taxi tour with Jared. An emotional journey very real, and his personal account of Belfast during the troubled years. Thoroughly explained with many stops along the way. I can not recommend this trip highly enough, to get underneath the city’s past, present and future. His heartfelt knowledge was personal and explanatory. The trip should have taken 1.5 hours but he spent twice as long with us, as he could see how interested that we were. Take the time....

Brilliant ! - Booked this taxi tour the same day, turned up on time and provided water and hand sanitizer. Excellent tour guide and I definitely learnt loads about Belfast that I never knew ! Came away from the tour feeling like i now know a lot more about the history in Belfast, I had no idea things happened so recently, especially in my life time. Planning on using this company again next time I’m here to go up to the causeway. Can’t recommend them enough !
