Additional Information

Every city sports a unique blend of shopping and coffee culture, however, Belfast distinguishes itself with its notable history, emerging from three decades of discord. The tours are led by the original taxi drivers who braved the challenges of transporting their communities amidst the gunfire and explosives of THE TROUBLES, putting their lives in danger with every journey in their black cabs.

Northern Ireland is renowned for the mural art that adorns almost every region of the country. Images depicting the IRA and UVF, often spotlighted in global news broadcasts or serving as background for interviews, illustrate the historical events and ideologies from both perspectives, effectively demarcating territories. Though these wall murals may seem menacing at first glance, they have evolved into key tourist attractions, as captivating as other popular destinations within and around Belfast.

A must to understand the complexities of Belfast political history - Driver and guide Brennan provided a terrific tour of the political hot spots of Belfast. We really appreciated his local knowledge and experience, and learned so much that we hadn't known even though we'd thought ourselves well-informed. Plenty of opportunities to get out of the car and take photos, too.

BELFAST IMPRESSES LIKE NO OTHER! WOW! - Outstanding Eye Opening Experience! TONY is a hands-on passionate guide. He showed us both sides of the conflict and also shared his hard personal family experiences during The Troubles. He is a man of conscience, hope, and care. It is super clear he loves his city and was so proud to share the city's success with us. He made the tour great! We were happy to step into his world so we could step back into ours with a newfound inspiration and gratitude for peace, freedom, and brotherly love! ONE LOVE!

Fantastic tour, educational and eye opening - Fantastic tour, our driver Gerard, was very friendly, knowledgeable and having lived through the troubles, he had his own stories/experiences to tell. Saying that, he was impartial and explained the time line from both sides. It was quite emotional, realising what people went through and how hard times were and not that long ago either. Brilliant tour, would highly recommend.

Excellent Tour - We completed the tour with Tony, excellent tour guide very knowledgeable. He gave a non biased account of the history between the Catholics and Protestants. He provided us with umbrellas for when we were outside the taxi. It was an overall great experience, especially writing on the wall and the murals, would recommend this tour.

Tony the cab driver collected us and took us around to historical sites - It was amazing. The guide was soo good and explained everything in such simple and interesting terms. He had a very personal touch and recommended an amazing museum which I highly recommend. He answered all questions we asked and we had loads of chances to take photos and enjoy the pictures. I would recommend booking this taxi ride to my friends at home and in particular the taxi driver Tony.

Black Cab Tour is a must do! - This tour was just what we were looking for. We didn’t understand a lot about the Troubles and wanted to ask questions. Our guide Micheal was just what we were looking for. He immediately put us at ease and he continued to share information that was difficult , sad, and painful but he also tried to keep it unbiased and factual. He also made us laugh and wanted us to come away with how proud he is of his city. He succeeded. This tour with Michael is an absolute must when you visit Belfast.
