Picked the wrong day! - I visited during the recent protests and unfortunately the city centre was in lockdown on the morning of my scheduled tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and did her best to plan an alternative but it really amounted to a trip around the National Museum and a short walk up a famous flight of steps. Not the tour company's fault - I was just unlucky with my timing.

Beirut Rising - Beirut is a great walking city. Having the app helped us find the interesting spots in the area selected. After the long civil war and then the bombings of this wonderful city by the State of Israel in 2006 -- Beirut is once again rising to be a beautiful world class city -- arts, food, history -- you can't go wrong -- PLEASE, stop destroying this city everyone -- how absurd and retrograde!

The tour was fantastic - really... -
The tour was fantastic - really insightful and a good duration - not too long but long enough to cover the important historical areas downtown. However I had to leave my hotel very early in the morning to get to the Viator meeting point on time, only to be transported 30 minutes right back to my hotel-area to commence the walking tour. I wish that the representative who coordinated my transportation would have pointed out the fact that my hotel is closer to the walking tour area than the meeting point, and allowed me to instead meet the group at the first landmark. I wasted 1 hour in travel time at the start of my day.

She knew a ton of stuff about everything the problem is that we didn't go to enough places.
But there was very little walking and the tour was half at the National Museum. I would much rather have walked all over Beirut for 5 hours listening to her than to even go to the museum. I was very disappointed in this tour, especially at 40 US. Not worth it. We didn't go right up to the statue in Martyr's square or walk through the souq, things I would have thought would be do-not-miss on such an expensive tour.

Viator? Leave it alone! - Beirut is a fabulous city and quite walkable. Unfortunately I became unwell and couldn't take this tour. I had booked through Viator and, when I tried to cancel, they were kind enough to refund my money. Only issue was that it took two 14 minute calls from Beirut to the US to achieve this so my refund was not only negated but I paid out more money! Despite many contact emails they do not see anything wrong with this picture! So, I advise all of you to take a walking tour of Beirut - it's fabulous, but maybe not with Viator.
