- Tian’anmen - In the morning, a professional tour guide will lead a visit to Tian’anmen Square, one of the largest squares globally, situated in the heart of Beijing. Tian’anmen Square measures 880 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west, covering an area of 440,000 square meters, capable of hosting a million people for grand gatherings. The tour will pass by landmarks such as the Arrow Tower, Zhengyang Gate, Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, National Museum, Great Hall of the People, National Flag, Monument to the People’s Heroes, and Tiananmen Tower. Tian’anmen Square embodies the resilient revolutionary spirit and courageous heroism of the Chinese people. Significant movements like the May 4th Movement, the 12th Movement, and the May 20th Movement have left a profound mark on China’s modern revolutionary history. Additionally, it has been the site of numerous major political and historical events, serving as a historical witness to China’s transformation from decline to resurgence.
- Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - After entering the Tian’anmen Tower, the tour proceeds to the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City in Beijing is one of the largest and best-preserved ancient wooden structures worldwide. It was designated a World Cultural Heritage site in 1987. Formerly the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, it housed twenty-four emperors. The 1911 Revolution overthrew the Qing Dynasty and established the Republic of China. In 1925, the Forbidden City was converted into the Palace Museum and opened to the public. Built in 1420, the Palace Museum boasts a history of over 600 years, witnessing the rise and fall of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as the Republic of China.
- Beijing Dong Wu Silk Museum - The visit includes a tour of the silk factory to understand the silk-making process. Silk is a renowned specialty of China. The industrious people of ancient China invented and mass-produced silk products, initiating the first large-scale trade exchange between the East and the West, known as the Silk Road. From the Western Han Dynasty, Chinese silk was exported in large quantities, becoming a globally renowned product. The main route from China to the West was termed the “Silk Road” by Europeans, and China was also referred to as the “Silk State.”
- Temple of Heaven - Now known as the Temple of Heaven Park, it is located in the southeast of Beijing. It is the largest existing ancient sacrificial building complex in China and a treasure among many sacrificial buildings in the country. The Temple of Heaven integrates ancient Chinese philosophy, history, mathematics, mechanics, aesthetics, and ecology, offering high historical, scientific, and unique artistic value, along with profound cultural significance. It is not only a gem in Chinese ancient architecture but also a treasure in the history of world architecture. Originally, it was a place for the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to offer sacrifices to the heavenly God. It was constructed in the 18th year of Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1420). After continuous reconstruction and expansion, it was completed during the Qianlong years of the Qing Dynasty. The Temple of Heaven covers an area of 2.73 million square meters and was opened as a park in 1918.
- Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - In the afternoon, the tour will visit the Summer Palace, formerly known as the Garden of Clear Yi, located in the western suburbs of Beijing, 15 kilometers from the city. It spans approximately 290 hectares and is adjacent to the Old Summer Palace. It is a large landscape garden built on the foundation of Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, modeled after Hangzhou West Lake and incorporating design techniques from gardens in the South of the Yangtze River. It is also the most well-preserved royal palace and garden, known as the “Museum of Royal Gardens” and a national key tourist attraction. In 1750, Emperor Qianlong spent 4.48 million taels of silver to construct the Garden of Clear Yi to honor his mother. In the 10th year of Xianfeng (1860), Qingyi Garden was burned down by British and French allied forces. In 1888, it was rebuilt and renamed the Summer Palace as a summer retreat. In 1900, the Summer Palace was destroyed by the “Eight-Power Allied Forces,” and its treasures were looted.
- Derun Jewelry at National Olympic Sports Center - The tour includes a visit to a jewelry factory. Pearls are a high-grade jewelry product. Pearl is an organic gem that has been treasured since ancient times. Geological and archaeological research has proven that pearls existed on Earth 200 million years ago. China is one of the earliest countries to utilize pearls. The difference between freshwater pearls and sea pearls is that the former is seedless, while the latter is not. Due to this, freshwater pearls are the best raw material for beauty pearl powder. China is a major producer of freshwater pearls, accounting for 95% of the world’s output. The thriving development of the pearl industry provides opportunities for the deep processing of Chinese pearls.
