- Mutianyu Great Wall - You will be picked up from your hotel lobby at 8:00am and your guide will lead you to your private minivan and start the tour.
Drive about 1.5 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is a masterpiece of restoration, with 23 original-style watchtowers. Upon your arrival, you will have some time to discover this amazing creature by yourself! You will get on the Great Wall either by chair lift up and toboggan down from at tower 6 or cable car round trip at tower 14.
- Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - After the hiking, it’s time to have lunch in a local village for the authentic Chinese food. The sample dishes:
Gongbao Chicken
Local mushroom and pork
Onion pancakes
Muxu porkÂ
Sweet and Sour pork/chicken
Egg or soy sauce fried rice
Spicy beans
Board on the minivan again, and head to the Summer Palace. During the 1 hour drive, your English speaking guide will tell you more about the imperial palace before you visit there. The Summer Palace is the largest and best-preserved imperial garden and palace in China.
Your full-day tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Beijing.

Surprised with a private tour and thoughtful tour guide! - Our day began with a nice surprise of an upgrade to a private tour. We were greeted at the scheduled time, in our hotel, by our lovely English-speaking tour guide Licia. The car was comfortable, and the driver was great. He provided us with cold water throughout the day and dropped us off at each location and picked us up promptly.
We toured the Summer Palace, Stopped for a lovely tea tasting and then lunch before going to the Great Wall.
It was so nice to have the private tour with the direct access to the very top. Our guide helped lead us directly to the lift line with our tickets and after a short wait, we were heading up to the top.
The views are spectacular, I wasn’t expecting all of the stairs, but it was a fun adventure. Our guide was so kind to get in line for us so we could easily go down the slide which was so fun! Highly recommend going down the slide.
Licia was so helpful in navigating Seamlessly the entrances and getting our tickets, she shared with us the history and was really fun to be around. Thoroughly enjoyed our day. We decided to hit the wall later in the day to avoid the crowd which was smart, but then hit traffic coming back. But we were comfortable in the car. Thanks for the great day!

Great Wall and Summer Palace. - Well organised. Our guide Alice met us in our hotel lobby as organised had a private car drive us to the summer palace first which was stunning. Then we drove to the great wall. Had some lunch. Which was a massive feast. Then we hit the wall just after noon. Once the crowds had gone.
Alice was very informative.

Absolute recommendation: Small group tour Mutianyu Great Wall and Summer Palace Tour with lunch / Discover Beijing Tou - We had a fantastic day trip, well planned by Beijing Tours. Thank you for not cancelling our tour even though we were the only ones who had booked that day. Thank you for the easy communication and a very special thank you to our tour guide Feng! He was fantastic and gave us lots of information. We had plenty of time to explore the Great Wall and the Summer Palace.
The only thing not worth mentioning was the sandwich at lunch. But the food wasn't that important to us! So no real points deducted!

The best guide very - Our guide for this tour was Cindy. Her and her driver were amazing. Cindy was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. She made this tour fun. The Mutianyu was my favorite part of the wall I have visited and the summer Palace was just amazing. I would defiantly recommend this tour.

Fun and Informative Day Trip - This is a truly fun and informative day trip! Our guide Cindy was fantastic, she was very funny and helpful with tips as well as history about our destinations.
We were picked up from our hotel, had 2hr for climbing on the Great Wall, a delicious buffet lunch, a visit to an authentic Jade retailer and quality souvenir shop, and then a lovely walk around the Summer Palace where Cindy took us to the best photo spots and places with the richest history.
I absolutely recommend this tour

Amazing time! - Cindy was an amazing tour guide! We got to see the Great Wall and also the Summer Palace with a free lunch!
Throughout the day she informed us of all the history and also gave us tips for the rest of our Beijing trip!

Unforgettable Experience - This tour was absolutely amazing!! Our guide, Juliet, was incredibly knowledgeable and felt like a friend by the end of the day, and our driver Mr. Wong was always on time for pickups and drove very smoothly.
They picked us up from our hotel at around 7:40 and told us that it would just be me and my friend on the tour today. So like many reviews before me have said, our tour became a private tour which was unexpected but great! They first drove us to Mutianyu, which took us around an hour of travel from the CBD of Beijing. During the drive, Juliet ran us through the history of the Great Wall and of Beijing. We arrived at the wall and were given around 2 hours to explore freely. We then met back with Juliet and rode the toboggan down through the forest which was a dream I never knew I had. If you have any worries about the toboggan, I will tell you that it felt very safe and that I highly recommend you do it.
Juliet then arranged for us to pick up lunch which she ordered ahead. We went to a traditional restaurant which was delicious and then continued on to the Summer Palace which was about another hour of travel. Juliet showed us around the grounds of the palace and the beautiful scenery and explained its history for about an hour. We were then picked up by Mr. Wong and taken back to our hotel.
Overall, me and my friend both loved this tour and our two guides. We both highly recommend this to anyone interested!

Great Day Tour - This tour was excellent, hightly recommended.
Our tour ended up being private as we were the only guests for that day.
