This area, situated further from Beijing, is a favored stretch due to its less crowded nature compared to the Badaling section. Recognized as one of the most scenic parts of the Great Wall in Beijing, the Mutianyu offers breathtaking views. Upon arrival, you have the option to ascend by cable car or chairlift and descend via toboggan.
- Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - Following a meal at a local eatery near the wall, you’ll take a roughly ninety-minute drive to the Summer Palace, the Imperial Garden. This retreat, once used by the imperial family, is acclaimed as the most well-maintained royal garden in China. Here, you’ll learn about the intriguing tales of the Empress Dowager Cixi.
You will be escorted back to the lobby of your centrally located hotel upon conclusion of the tour.

Mutianyu Great Wall & Summer Palace Private Full Day Tour - More than experiencing the stunning views of historical Great Wall and Summer Palace, my family were thrilled and appreciative to the helpful and friendly companion with our tour guide, Wendy.
With her interactive guide, I felt like walking through history, back to the time. My wife and children made friend with Wendy very quickly and enjoyed their conversation throughout the day. My mother also felt the caring from Wendy. Turned out everyone had a great day.

Highly recommend!! French-speaking guide! - Excellent day with Catherine Lu agency with our very kind French-speaking guide Jasmine and driver visiting the Mutianyu Great Wall (including Toboggan to come down which adults and kids alike loved). After a delicious lunch we visited the Summer Palace. Very well organised and we learnt so much about the sites we visited and Chinese culture in general. Highly recommend!!

Great tour for the Great Wall!! - The place have to visit in Beijing! We got to the Great Wall! We enjoyed it a lot! The tour company booked all the tickets. They choose good location for photos. We took cable cart up and took tobangon down. It was a lot of fun!!
Our our guide Sonia took good care of us. She arrived earlier, prepared water, took photos for us and very knowledgeable for the sites we are going.
The drive was nice and on time!
They made the trip a great experiences and memories. Highly recommend!

Beijing great wall trip - Thanks to Wendy we had a wonderful trip to the great wall. 😊👍 I really enjoyed every details of the tour including tea ceremony as a side experience after checking out the great wall. I would totally visit Beijing again for longer trip and I would contact Wendy again as a tour guide.

What an amazing day and excellent guide! - That was a fantastic tour, we were a group of 7 and we enjoyed a lot. Pickup right at the hotel, comfortable and safe ride, driver was really good and careful. Catherine Lu organized and coordinated everything, truly helpful with language and logistical barriers. And above all, our exclusive guide, Grace, was excellent, extremely knowledgeable and fun. We had an amazing day! Highly recommended! Thanks again Grace!

A day very well spend with Jenna at the Great Wall and Summer Palace - We had a wonderful time with Jenna who took us on the Great Wall and Summer Palace tour. Starting with the tour she was at the hotel reception before time and waiting for us. The car, a 6 seater Buick was ready and was nice and clean. The drive to the Great Wall was about an hour and half and was very comfortable. A short shuttle bus and cable car ride and we were up on the wall. Jenna completely guided us all the way and took our photos at the most picturesque locations which she later shared as a story, which was quite unexpected. Later we stopped for lunch at a restaurant which she had arranged and placed the food order while on the way to the restaurant. The food was the best that we tasted in Beijing and portions were more than we could have. We were stuffed and had s siesta on the way to the Summer Palace. There again we were taken to the 'must not be missed' spots and briefed with full history of the palace. We were very well taken care of and dropped off at the hotel. The day was very well spent and all the family members were very happy with this private tour, worth every penny.

Great Wall! Great tour! - We spent two days with Angela from Catherine Lu tours. Our second day was the Great Wall and Summer Palace with a fabulous lunch in between. Angela is lovely and so knowledgeable. We learned so much about Chinese history and culture and had a wonderful time. We love good food and lunch did not disappoint. Best dumplings ever and a wonderful vegetable noodle dish. We highly recommend this tour company. They will customize for your needs.

Beijing Great Wall with Catherine Lu Tours - We are happy to engage the services of Catherine Lu Tours for as our local guides for Great Wall and also the Forbidden City Tour. We have been assigned our Local guide Ms Wendy Ma who is proficient in both English and Mandarin. Her explanations is vivid and not to dry which kept both my teenage boys interested. We have also experienced our fist snow fall in the magnificent Great Wall of China 🇨🇳 and she has guided us through our Beijing expedition without any problems. Two thumbs up for Wendy for her incredible professional service but most of all, it felt like a guided tour with your friend and family. Her recommendation for some local food was also spot on! Thanks so much for the wonderful memories. Looking forward to go back soon.
