The Great Wall of Gubeikou - Gubeikou, along with the passes at Shanhaiguan in the east and Juyongguan in the west, was a key strategic target in military campaigns since ancient times. Protecting these three passes was considered vital for keeping Beijing safe from the Mongolian nomads. There was also a fierce battle between Chinese and Japanese in the 2nd World War. The vistas of the sinuous Wall snaking its way over the ridges of the Yanshan Mountain are breathtaking.

This cost-effective, two-day trek allows you to experience the unique towers and challenges offered by the remote sections of the Great Wall. Our driver will collect you from a central city meet-up spot and take you to the Wall, where a local farmer guide will warmly welcome you. Over the course of two days, the guide will accompany you as you explore the Gubeikou & Jinshanling sections of the Wall, which remain underexplored all year round due to their distance from Beijing. You’ll also have the opportunity to gain insight into rural Chinese life.
