A must do on your bucket list - We had this biking trip recommended to us and it did not disappoint. Our bikes were great, views thru the countryside were awesome, and the food was superb. Damien, who helped us book our self guided trip, was very helpful in his knowledge of the area. Our local guides, Annette and Michael, went over and above making sure we were well taken care of and comfortable with our adventure. We knew they were always available if needed. We highly recommend Tour de Vines.

Beechworth to Bright - Fantastic 3 night self guided tour- beautiful wineries for our lunches and great choices chosen for dinner- accommodation was clean and spacious and our guides Michael and Bernard were very helpful. Our 13 year old son kept up on his e-bike and loved it as much as we did- would highly recommend

Excellent Gourmet bike riding from Beechworth to Harrietville, Victoria with Tour de Vines - I have done many trips with Tour de Vines with a few of them in New Zealand and this was the second time touring from Beechworth but this time with my husband. We chose the gourmet self guided option over 5 nights and 4 days of riding as we extended our trip to ride a return trip from Bright to Harrietville which I can highly recommend as. It is a beautiful ride along yhe beginnings of the Ovens River for most of the way. The operative word for this trip was GOURMET with magnificent locations, excellent service and food to sample but a couple of places were particularly spectacular. San Miranda King Valley winery is the lunch stop for the first day and is just outside of Milawa and we couldn’t believe the magnificent platter with delicious calamari and other treats on a platter which we thought was destined for the table of six next to us to share. Lancemore’s Merlot Restaurant at our accommodation in Milawa was great too. Myrtleford for our third night is a beautiful country town and I once again went to Red Rama which has a couple of warehouses in the Main Street with an eclectic mix of garden and house decor items from China, Japan, Morocco and India. I recalled it as a highlight of the trip from the last time and it did not disappoint. I mentioned it to others on the ride and they were very excited to see it. (Unfortunately Red Rama is not mentioned in the tour notes). It is worth noting that quite a number of businesses were not open as some of them are seasonal and I suspect some of them may also be closed down. I would recommend that Tour de Vines update their guide material to reflect the current state of business availability to assist riders and also include reference to Red Rama, Myrtleford as it is an amazing attraction. Another tip for riders is to ensure you take full wet weather gear as it can be very cold and wet! We could have sold our wet weather trousers for a good profit to two other intrepid riders with very blue, wet legs sheltering on top of Taylor’s Gap. Tour de Vines staff are always amazing and many thanks to Annette and Michael for their friendly guidance as it helped it all to run smoothly for us. Also much appreciation to Damian and his staff and we will soon be planning another adventure with you.

Wonderful self guided cycling tour with Tour De Vines - Thank you Tour De Vines. Annette our tour guide was fantastic. She contacted us the night before to organise and confirm time and place to meet for the start of the tour and answered my question about where we can park. On the day of our tour both my husband and I alarms failed to wake us and because Annette had contacted us the night before I was able to text her and explain our predicament. She was so lovely and understanding and replied that we could start the tour later. When we arrived She met us with the bikes and then we got our choice of hot beverage while she sat us down and explained the route we were to follow. She was very careful to explain and describe the route and the stops we could make on the way. We were very glad to get the e bikes as I don't think we would have made it otherwise! The mini cheese tasting at Milewa Cheese was enjoyable and we especially liked lunch at The Providore where the service was very warm and friendly and it was so lovely to sit in comfortable arm chairs in front of a roaring fire at the end of a long ride. My husband was so tired he had a little nap in front of the fire!

Riding the wineries should be this easy - Good communication, Michael was friendly, knowledgeable and easy going. Bookings were all excellent, accommodation, restaurants, cafes and wineries Rail trail was a great ride, self guiding was easy, very scenic and an electric bike made it doable not being regular riders.

Best cycling trip ever - Fantastic trip, great support from Tour de Vines all the way through from planning with Emma, to all the practical support and pick ups from Annette (super helpful at every point) and Bernard (van driver, competing cyclist, vintage car renovator, font of local knowledge and by the way also an architect who designed the stunning Panoramia villas!). Everyone went out of their way to book the best vineyards and sites, accommodate us in great locations, check in on us, pick up any purchases, cope with weather changes etc. Safe and easy cycling done on their ordinary Trek FX - rather than electric - at ages 64 and 74.

Relaxing wine and foodie tour through the King and Ovens Valley - This tour was actually the Five Day Tour de Grand Gourmet which very well organised and although self guided, the staff kept in contact with us along the way to check everything was going well. The Mountains to Murray trail was easy to follow and ride and designated food stops had excellent food and wine. A couple of the motels were a little disappointing, however, I’m not sure there was any better choice in those towns. Overall we had a wonderful time and would certainly use Tour de Vines again.

Don't take a self-guided tour with this company - The communication of this company needs significant improvement. Recently completed the Tour de Grande Gourmet with 5 friends. My friends and I have completed self-guided tours in NZ and Croatia. I have also do an escorted cycling tour in France. All tours were with different operators. Based on these great experiences, we were expecting a standard of service that was not met My review reflects the experience of the group and not merely myself. The communication issues arose before actually starting the tour. The company representative who was looking after the booking was not consistent with her responsiveness to emails. Sometimes she responded quickly, other times questions went unanswered for days. On one particular instance I was awaiting a reply and went I sent a follow-up email it was then that I was notified she was out of the office for a few days. I admit I was frustrated as I needed an answer and so responded abruptly. Her response implied that I was impinging upon her right to be out of the office. My issue was that I felt she should have responded to her unanswered emails before going on leave or at least acknowledge. During the tour we often arrived at one of the pre-booked venues to find we either had no booking or the number was for two guests not six. The feedback from these establishments was that this type of error was a common occurrence with Tour de Vines bookings. I hired an electric bike for the duration of the tour, which in reality is only the duration of the cycling part of the tour. Recharging the battery at night was an issue and thankfully the guide from a Tour de Vines escorted tour was willing to help out and solved the issue each time for me. After reading the other reviews for this company, the group was left wondering why our experience was so different from the glowing reports on TripAdvisor. Perhaps these reviews were all from escorted tours where the guide sorts out all the behind-the-scenes issues that we had to deal with. I was constantly told how busy the company was and how short staffed .I understand the difficulty experienced by businesses in the current climate but perhaps if they can't service all their clients adequately then they should limit their tour availability until they are able to provide the level of service that customers are paying for. Unfortunately this cycle group will be looking for other operators next time we do a cycling tour.
