Super Fun - Enjoyed the experience. There is quite a bit of walking. I enjoy walking through areas I have never seen, so loved it. Great bakery. The market like place has lots of choices for you .

Basel Food Tour - This tour was interesting. It is possible to split the tour over two days. We did part of the tour in the morning - coffee and cake followed by a tour of the eco-friendly store and then the sweet treat store. There is some walking to complete so having data on the cell phone allowed us to use google maps - very helpful. The last stop was a food court. The selection was broad and the food was very good. Alcoholic drinks were not included but one could purchase those separately. We went to the food court in the evening. It is well populated by families and young professionals on their way home.

Basel - culinary - with a difference - The self-guided tour takes us to unusual places in Basel. Exciting, interesting, enriching. We were greeted and given friendly and competent advice at every location and we really enjoyed the tour. Please note - it starts at the Kult bakery in St. Johann!

See the city and taste culture - I really enjoyed this activity. You walk past many of the city's attractions and come into contact with locals. You will also get a piece of Basel's (food) culture with delicacies from Swiss cuisine (not to mention Asian cuisine in the food court). 100% value for money and a fun activity! *Please note that Klara does not offer hot cuisine between 14 and 18. So go here early in the day or later in the day.

Worth it. - Quite enjoyable. We started off at Backerei KULT where Julep greeted us with a smile. She was so nice, explaining how it unfolds. Basel unverpackt was a super cool & interesting store, very friendly staff. Klara is the crowning jewel in the tour. Joshua was very helpful. Jakob’s Basler Leckerly wasn’t the friendliest, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. But the first three make this tour still worth it.

Nice idea to get to know the city - The two of us did the tour on the first day of our trip - a great idea and helpful to get an impression of the city straight away. We started the tour at around 11am in the bakery with an excellent coffee and a small local speciality (tip for the bakery: right next to the entrance there are seats like in a shop window with a nice view of the street life). Then we went to a packaging-free shop where we were given a small glass to fill. The highlight for us was lunch at Klara, where you could try your way through culinary classics from different countries. We were a little disappointed by the end of the tour in a shop with typical Basel pastries. In a sales talk in the small, empty shop, we were presented with the products, which gave us the feeling that we should buy something. We would have liked a different end to the food tour here, where you could also linger briefly in the restaurant. Additional note: We overlooked the 'local tip' on the map to use the ferry when crossing the river - that would certainly have been another highlight.

Great value tour - Really good value tour and an opportunity to see places in Basel you perhaps wouldn’t visit. You visit 4 places to enjoy food and drink. The food court was the best where we could choose 3 tapas dishes from a choice of outlets. Would definitely recommend… only improvement would have been the opportunity to try Swiss cheese and chocolate!

Ok - This was an ok way of trying places we might not have seen BUT not a lot of food. We had to buy extras. I think that’s the idea, and likely why businesses buy into it. I did like the eco friendly place - something different. No drink was offered though. There was also no beverage in the last stop (almond cake). Fave place was the Food Hall. Plenty of choice. And lovely home made lemonade. I wouldn’t recommend it to friends if I’m honest.

Not what we thought it would be! - The food tour was not quite what we were expecting. A coffee and small cake at the first stop, an option to fill a couple of jars from a selection of bulk items at the next. The 3rd stop - Klara’s - did have the option to sample 3 items of international food and a small drink. The last stop at Jakobs Basler Leckerly took about 30 seconds - just giving us a couple of sample bags of sweet cakes and no other effective conversation. To be fair the only person that took any time with us was stop 2 at Basel unverpackt. She spent time explaining their no waste policy and showed us the range of products available. We struggle to recommend this tour.

Basel Food Tour - Bear in mind that you will do a lot of walking. At one point searched for taxi stand. Found taxi driver but not willing to drive us to uverpackt "you can walk, it is just around the corner". NO IT WASN'T, took another 20 minutes however it was the best shop on the tour , enjoyed filling our small glass jar with organic treats. Backerel Kult just OK, however staff very Plesant and helpful, could have got a cappuccino anywhere with biscuit. Klara was not as pictured and could only order certain things off stall like booths and could only go to certain booths, not very clean either. Jakob's Basler Leckerly, proprietor, tossed their famous sweet treat to us with nothing more, not even a welcome how are you! And the treat was dry and not very tasty. Overall, not worth the money.
