- Parque Nacional dos Lencois Maranhenses - Departing from Barreirinhas in an all-terrain 4x4 vehicle, we’ll head to one of the ferry crossings over the Preguiças River, which provides entry to the vast Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PNLM), spanning roughly 155,000 hectares. Near the sand dunes, there are designated areas for parking the vehicles. Accompanied by a guide, we will embark on a trek to explore the lagoons, with ample time allocated for basking in the sun and enjoying the water.

Departing from Barreirinhas in a 4x4 vehicle, we’ll make our way to a ferry for crossing the Preguiças River, the inlet to Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PNLM), which spans around 155 thousand hectares. The journey typically takes about 35 minutes. Once we reach the base of the dunes, we disembark from the vehicle and embark on a 15-minute hike to the Blue Lagoon or the season’s prime lagoon for a refreshing swim. Continuing on foot for around 20 more minutes, we’ll have some free time to swim. The full lagoon circuit trail takes approximately 1 hour to complete, a bit longer than the Lagoa Azul Circuit but equally breathtaking. At the foot of the Dunes, we’ll find specific spots to park our vehicles. Accompanied by a guide, we’ll launch our climb to Lagoa Bonita, right at the start of the hike. No matter how worn out you may feel from the climb, the overwhelming beauty of the place will invigorate you. We’ll have some free time for sunbathing and swimming.
