Highlights
  • Alberobello - Alberobello, a fairy tale village, an enchanted place where seems you are walking among gnomes houses, it’s actually a real village where the inhabitants live all the year round in little circular buildings with a conical stone roofs with mysterious symbols drawn on. Its historic center is one of the most famous UNESCO sites of the region, in a lot of narrow streets that climb the hill there are more than a thousand of trulli, typical peasants dwelling, with a long very interesting history! Alberobello is the most important stage of your journey in Puglia!

  • Martina Franca - Martina Franca is a charming Apulian village located in the Itria valley. You will be enchanted by the beauty of the churches of the historic stately buildings and the characteristic historic center where every corner offers an unmissable glimpse.

  • Locorotondo - This little, white city is perched on a hill overlooking Itria valley, dotted with trulli and vineyards and it’s famous for the production of a local white wine DOC. The name refers to the plan of the town, a round place, still clearly visible today, which makes the historic center look like a round white crown. Wonderful Day Trip in Puglia from Bari - We took this tour from Bari to see some of the surrounding towns and of course to see the Trulli houses. It was just the two of us, so pretty well a private tour with our driver Valerio and our guide Enza, who were both excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable about the places we were visiting. We started the day by visiting Locorotondo. It was market day, so lots of beautiful fruits and vegetables on display. We explored the back alley maze of streets, which were fairly quiet. Very pretty town. Great views out over the surrounding valley. We next visited the town of Martina Franca, full of beautiful architecture, mostly white buildings. Enza said it was like a smaller version of Ostuni. Stopped for a cafe macchiato. The last place to visit was Alberobello, the town of Trulli buildings. Enza walked us through the commercial side, where most of the houses have been turned into gift shops and then over to the quieter area where people live, which had great views over the hillside of 100's of Trulli buildings. We had some free time to have a drink/snack. It was a wonderful tour, which I would highly recommend if you would like to see these towns while in Bari. We preferred the first two towns as they were much quieter. Alborobello was overrun with tourists, lots of school trips and big bus tours, but that has to be expected as it is a unique place. Just did not expect so many people:) We had another tour booked to Ostuni, Cisternino and Polignano but unfortunately my wife slipped the night before and hurt her hip so would not be able to do the walking required. I am sure the trip would have been just as wonderful as this one. Valerio offered up a tour later in the week but we were leaving Bari the next day. We will have to go back at a future date!

Highlights of an Exceptional Tour - We enjoyed the entire tour. We especially liked the serenity of Locorotondo and the trulli architecture of Alberobello. Our guide pointed us to the vista where we could take the best photos and he was amazingly intelligent and informed about this area. We really appreciated his knowledge level and passion for history and architecture.

Excellent, well designed tour. - The whole experience provided by our guide Fabio and driver Valerio was excellent. Fabio,s commentary was interesting and well paced. He was thoughtful and extremely considerate of us as two elderly women with some mobility issues. He brought the 3 places visited to life with just the right amount of information and local knowledge. Valerio,s driving was safe and made us feel quite secure on the journey. We would highly recommend this tour , Graziemila Fabio e Valerio.

A Private Tour! - Honestly I had no idea I was booking a private tour but it was a lovely surprise! Fabio, our guide, and Valerio, the driver, picked us up in a nice vehicle in Bari and drove us to Alborobello, Martina Franca, and Locorotondo sharing the history and all kinds of information along the way! They were so kind and took us to such beautiful places and also gave us restaurant recommendations for lunch in Alborobello. When they found out we were staying in Polignano a mare, not Bari, they exclaimed that they would take us back to Polignano instead and had said we should have had them pick us up there so we wouldn’t have had to take the train into Bari. So if you’re not staying in Bari, be sure to telll them when you book! Everything was so lovely and I can’t recommend enough!

Perfect day in rustic rural Italy - Had a lovely time with a small intimate group of likeminded travelers and a knowledgeable guide. Seeing the small cities and having coffee and lunch there was fun and delicious! Bring a water bottle to fill up at local fountains, a hat, comfortable shoes with good grip and lots of sunscreen!

Comfortable flow through beautiful Puglia - The Go2Bari team organized a relaxing day trip with a small group: the stops were not too long but we didn’t feel rushed. Yurii and Fabio were friendly and informative, answering any questions we had about the towns and history. We definitely appreciated having an air-conditioned van waiting for us after each stop.
