Hop on - hop off - A good way to see the city as there is so much to see with limited time to do everything. Plan your hop-offs and be prepared to walk to get to the attractions.

RUDE TRAVELERS SPOIL IT FOR EVERYONE...!!! - While an enjoyable 2 hours to travel through Barcelona, we took the Red Line part of the tour which is the southern part of the city, and it felt like we spent way too much time down near the ports of Barcelona which didn't hold a lot of historical interest. The Blue Line goes to the northern part of the city so we will try that next. The audio guide was easy to understand for English speakers (which isn't always the case due to thick accents) so that was appreciated. What was NOT appreciated was the extremely LOUD group of German tourists sitting near us who took the opportunity to chat among themselves at LOUD volume the whole time. Please note: if you have no interest in listening to the audio guide, those around you DO, so please speak in a low volume so everyone around you can enjoy the tour. Their voices were so loud they interfered with actually hearing the tour through the earbuds. Amazingly clueless and rude. Warum bist du so unhöflich? Bitte ruhig sein! (Why are you being so rude? Please be quiet)

Ok - It was ok but very long stops at some points on the blue route which were annoying as no one was waiting to get on or off

Viator sends faulty bar code - We were told that Viator received our payment and sent us the bar code. The first blue Turístic bus did not allow us to get on because of a faulty bar code. They told us to look for a red city tour bus. The second bus would also not accept our bar code. We called Viator who told us to go to plaza Catalunya to try a bus there. We took a taxi to Plaza Catalunya. The third bus would also not accept the bar code, but agreed to photo our bar code and we were finally accepted. The technology to receive our payment and send us an appropriate bar code was clearly at fault and Viator should repair this problem and refund us for the taxi ride and phone call to the US . Now I have to worry that the other Viator tours that I paid for will also not function.

Small step above public transport - I wish I’d read reviews before I bought. Hope this helps someone else. The advantage of Theo tour is that it allows you to get across a wide-spread city with fewer stops than a city bus. But the commentary is minimal: a sentence or two. Don’t expect to learn anything. The buses can come as far apart as 20 minutes and, while the tour’s app shows you where buses are, you will have to search for a small icon on a small map. There is no real-time updating. So if you are a time-maximizer, you will find this frustrating. The stops are also not available on Google maps so you need to use their app to find them. They are marked with a small red post, not an actual bus stop and in busy areas this can be hard to spot. So, for me, the one advantage to this transport was fewer stops than a city bus and two routes that cover the city.

What a waste of money - Honestly don’t bother. Staff were friendly when selling the tickets but the staff on the busses seemed fed up. You’re not guaranteed to get on the bus if it’s busy so you’d have to wait another 20 minutes to hope there’s room on the next one. The metro is so much cheaper and easier and quicker. The “tour” bus takes so long to get around. It stops in a few random places with little warning (we didn’t get the headphones. Maybe they tell you through there) we wanted to go to Parc Güell, ot took over an hour and a half and then dropped us a 15 minute walk from the park when there is a bus stop right outside! Then it was sold out so we walked straight back down the hill and waited for the next bus. The following day we went to the park again, it took 15 minutes on the metro. We didn’t bother with even trying the red route. What a waste of a day. If you don’t mind public transport or walking to actually see a city then save your money. €74 for three of us down the drain.
