Highlights
  • Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar - On most tours we pass by this sensational Gothic masterpiece and admire the rose-window façade, before exploring the rest of El Born.
  • El Born - We love to show travellers the hidden back streets of the Born district, full of secrets, boutiques, artisan shops and cosy cafes…. the central ‘square’ used to be a medieval jousting ground!
  • Parc de la Ciutadella - This gorgeous park is named after the citadel that once sat here. We explore its many points of interest, including a fountain partially-designed by Gaudi, and get some oxygen in our lungs.
  • Torre Agbar - This phallic-shaped wonder is one of the most iconic buildings in Barcelona. We marvel at its multi-hued exterior and discuss the modernisation of the city.
  • Los Encantes Barcelona - We often stop off at this charming old flea market and shop for kitsch souvenirs, or stop for a snack. The entire area has been revitalised in recent years.
  • El Poblenou - This former industrial district is full of treasures, such as modern parks, neoclassical cemeteries, street art, superblocks, and dazzling new architectural projects. Its quieter than the centre and ideal for cycling around.
  • Port Olimpic - Built for the 1992 Olympic Games this shining white marina transformed Barcelona’s coast and is full of bars, clubs and modern sculptures… like Frank Gehry’s golden fish.
  • Playa de La Barceloneta - No cycle ride in Barcelona is complete without a ride along the beach. We normally reserve this route for the way home, enjoying the sun on our faces and the carnival atmosphere of this crazy playa.

Unexpectedly 'private' tour. - Amazingly, I was the only guest when I arrived, and had a private bike tour with Bella. She was a great guide and adjusted the itinerary to suit my interests. Was a great way to get to know Barcelona, a very bike friendly city. The bike was comfortable with an upright sitting position, and quite new with everything working well. Being the two of us meant we could be quite agile getting around the city. Bella left me with some great tips for food and coffee to follow up afterwards.

Definitely sign up for this tour. SO MUCH FUN! - Our tour guide, Alejandra, was amazing! There was a total of 5 people, my friend and I and our two teenagers, plus another woman. Barcelona is an incredibly bike-friendly city, and we went all over. Alejandra gave us a local perspective and also provided a lot of history and pointed out things that we would have missed on our own. She apologized for her English, but we understood everything she said. We asked our kids to rate everything we did over the week we were in Barcelona, and the bike tour was #1 on both of their lists - mine too.

Enjoyable, laid back and fun - We really enjoy our tour and always find it much more relaxing to be able to follow someone ’in the know’ so we don’t have to keep stopping to look at directions. It was great being taken to some of the hidden away spots that we’d never have even known were there. Our guide, Elisa (sorry if spelled wrong) was very knowledgeable, friendly and set just the right pace. We enjoyed using an e-bike for the first time. The ride was easy and flat but we just wanted to try e-bikes for the novelty factor!

Wonderful way to explore! - Since first doing a bike tour of New Orleans, it’s a favorite thing to book to explore great places; no car needed but you cover way more than possible only on foot. This was TERRIFIC!! Our guide AlejA was excellent! Her English was enough, spoke mostly Catalan but with our son fluent in Spanish, they communicated easily (truly if you only speak English, it’s no problem). Wonderful sights & stops including a charming restaurant for tapas & drinks about 75% of the way through. Ignore reviews that complain “no Sagrada Familia?!” Yes, this is called “off the beaten path” for a reason & you don’t use a bike tour to get to a place where you need to spend several hours. I will say I totally spaced & didn’t realize that this lasted about 5h as I recall, & we did not have water. Bought some along the way at a planned stop. You are riding in the middle of city traffic for portions, so note that. Our party was ages 18 to fit 78. It’s awesome, you should DO IT!
