Highlights

Make your own way to Barcelona’s gothic quarter, Barri Gòtic, and meet your guide for your full-day sea kayak experience. Then, hop aboard your air-conditioned minibus and relax on the journey north to the Costa Brava region — your destination of the day. Put on your provided life jacket, listen to a safety briefing and then paddle away from the cove in your sturdy sea kayak.

Meaning ‘rugged coast,’ Costa Brava is just that. Your route takes in a quiet and scenic stretch of the coastline, and you’ll have ample opportunity to ogle the landscape as you paddle.

Your guide stays close-by through your 4-hour stint on the water, allowing you to hear some light-hearted stories about the coastal area and its history. Besides the commentary, you’ll also receive some tips on how to improve your kayak technique so you can get the most out of your session. Learn how to paddle and maneuver yourself, and in the rare event that you should roll out, your guide is ready to help you back on board.

Around lunchtime, paddle to the shore of a secluded cove, and enjoy some free time to swim, soak up the sun and explore. Snorkel equipment is provided for you to use, as is a picnic lunch — complete with baguette sandwiches, chips, fruit and bottled water — brought along by your guide.

Feeling refreshed, return to your kayak and follow your guide back to the Costa Brava start point. Finally, finish your experience with a drop-off back in Barcelona.

Great day Kayak trip - We had a great full-day trip from Barcelona with Spanish Trails. Easy pick-up and drop-off. Plenty of time in the kayaks, and also some time to cool off in the water while taking a break from the paddling. Our guide Martin did a great job finding a shaded spot for lunch and with providing a great variety of local foods for our group of four. This was one of the best days of our three-week trip in the western Mediterranean. Highly recommend!

Ines was an absolute... - Ines was an absolute fantastic tour guide. She gave us so much history about Barcelona, Costa Brava and Spain in general! Costa Brava is spectacular, the wild coast should not be missed on your trip. It wast 12 and 14 year old girls favorite day in our 2 week trip. Kayaking, cliff jumping and swimming/snorkeling. The water is much warmer here than down in Costa Del Sol and clear blue/turquoise. It can get pretty windy in the summer but Ines was great and just made sure we were back a bit earlier before the wind really kicked up. Definitely give this trip a go!

Sea kayak tour on the Costa Brava from Barcelona - Our family recently went on a kayaking excursion with Martin as our guide, and it was an incredible experience. Martin was friendly, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun to be around. He wisely guided us through beautiful spots, such as natural arches, cliff jumping, snorkleing spots, and sharing interesting facts along the way. His infectious sense of fun made the whole experience enjoyable. We highly recommend Martin as a kayak guide.

An awesome experience outside Barcelona ! - I discovered this experience while searching for things to do around Barcelona, and I am so glad I did ! We were a total of 4 couples, coming from different areas of the world, which made the experience quite fun. Matteo met us right on time, and drove us from Barcelona to Costs Brava. After a few VERY important safety tips, we were off to paddling our kayaks. Some people had no experience at all, but this didn’t cause any problems or hassle. We stopped at a cove, where we were able to experience the beautiful waters. We then had the fun experience of squeezing into a cave with our canoes! Our last stope was in calm waters, between rocks, where we disembarked our kayaks and had the leisure to snorkel at our own pace, watching the schools of beautiful different fish, for around an hour. We then headed back to the shore, and enjoyed sandwiches made freshly in the trainers’ cabin. After a cocktail enjoyed at the beach bar, Matteo drove us back to Barcelona. After such an eventful day, we were definitely quieter on the way back: we were asleep! Thanks Matteo for an AWESOME experience. I highly recommend this experience and his services, as we were well taken care of, safe and very happy! Would SURELY do it again!

Fun Family Day! - We added this kayak day at the last minute, and were so glad we did. Our guide, Martin, was perfection. We kayaked, jumped off a big rock, snorkeled, picnicked and enjoyed a really great family day. Pro Tip: Wear water shoes. Really. Wear water shoes.

Just an amazing experience - We were fortunate enough to do many of the Spanish Trails tours while visiting Barcelona with our 10 and 12 year old kids recently. We highly recommend the kayak/snorkel trip to anyone that would like to experience the unspoiled Spanish coastline while getting a little exercise. Our guide took care of all the details for us so we were able to enjoy ourselves fully. The kids loved jumping off the cliffs into the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean and we all marveled at the unspoiled beauty of the Costa Brava.

Spanish Trails.....once again, exceptional for all three tours taken! - I have taken many Spanish Trails tours both in Barcelona and in Madrid. This year I took the bike tour, "All Corners", small group Kayaking, and a private Tarragona and Sitges. Each was amazing! The bike tour with Alexandra, was fun and informative. We covered so much of Barcelona, and by using electric bikes climbing hills was so easy! Alexandra was fun and informative. I would highly recommend a bike tour to explore Barcelona, you see and experience almost all areas of Barcelona, something a walking tour couldn't do. The Tapas stop.....YUM! Our small group kayaking tour was a unique and special experience. To see the coast from the spectacular water was unforgettable! Jumping off a cliff (crazy!), swimming in the sea, and a picnic on the beach was just "wow". Fillipo our guide was smart and funny. He added so much to our experience. Tarragona and Sitges, a private tour Spanish Trails created for us, with Andrew was another once in a lifetime experience. Before reaching Tarragona, we stopped at a Roman quarry and a Roman aqueduct. Walking on the aqueduct, more than a "wow moment". Andrew, our guide, exceptional. We covered Tarragona but never felt rushed. Andrew was so knowledgeable. The lunch included with our tour might have been the best meal of our trip! Spanish Trails, I'm not sure how they do it, but each of their trips are exceptional. The guides aren't just guides, but instead you feel you are spending time with a friend. So many thanks.....and I can't wait for my next Spanish Trails adventure! I would highly recommend Spanish Trails for any of their tours and/or for them to create a personalizes tour.

This trip was amazing! Martin our... -
This trip was amazing! Martin our guide was friendly and informative and was able to make adjustments on the fly to accommodate for our family. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great and we weren't able to take the kayaks out, so Martin suggested a hike along the shore to some secluded beaches and coves for swimming and snorkeling. We even found a place to do some cliff jumping. This day trip was the highlight for my two kids and they still talk about it all the time.
