Beautiful Views You Would Otherwise Miss! - A trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park would be incomplete without a Windjammer sailing trip. We went out on the Joshua with Captain Greg, Eva and Austin on the 10am 2 hour trip. It was a beautiful windy day and very brisk, so we bundled up. You get views of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park that you would otherwise not see. It was thrilling raising the sails and navigating inside the beautiful bay surrounded by mountains and lots and lots of lobster buoys. Captain Greg shared the history of the area and its inhabitants which was very interesting. This was one of the highlights of our trip and highly recommend it.

Great crew! - Very fun! Great crew and very cool ship. Mostly older couples, but we went on a Friday morning. Don’t expect comfortable seating. This is a sailboat! We had a great time on our honeymoon.

Dress Warmly and Enjoy the View. - Real sail boat with masts and sails etc. crew was nice. Sailing was fun. Lovely view of Maine and the famous park from the sea. Dress warmly it can get very cold out there. The captain was very informative regarding sailing, and the harbor.

Relaxing, beautiful, fun experience. - I don't know what i expected exactly. The crew were great. They were very capable, very knowledgeable, very good. The scenery was beautiful. I guess i had hoped for more wildlife views. I know that they have no control over that. All in all, relaxing, enjoyable, definitely worth the money.

relaxing, pleasant cruise - Our ship was the 2 masted Joshua, not the schooner pictured, but that was fine with us. In mid-Oct, the schooner had gone to port for the season. We cruised around the "porcupine" islands and nearby bay. The captain and some of the crew pointed out various historical and geologic facts of interest as well as a sighting of harbor porpoises. It was a bit chilly and overcast and it would have been nice to be offered a hot beverage (just a suggestion). But, in all, very pleasant cruise.

Disappointed - We were promised a large boat. The night before we received a text saying the boat has changed. When we arrived at the boat, it was much smaller than expected. We were packed in like sardines. There were barely enough spots for everyone on board. I was traveling with a 18-month old. With no ability to move around. Every cry or shout by my child felt exaggerated. I found myself anting the entire experience to end as fast as possible. That said, the crew was great and professional.
