illustrious heritage of its hometown of Balbriggan, famous for the the production of fine textiles. Building on the local tradition of outstanding craftsmanship, Celtic Tweed are proud designers and makers of beautifully tailored tweed garments, produced locally and sustainably.

Visitors have the opportunity to experience an authentic behind-the-scenes look at the working warehouse and how classic and contemporary tweed and linen garments are handmade by master craftspeople. Try your own hand at this craft and enjoy a tipple at the in-store bar.
Celtic Tweed focuses on sustainability and slow fashion, minimizing waste and sourcing materials as local as possible. Visitors can purchase our classically designed pret-a-porter collection pieces inspired by Irish heritage and also avail of our bespoke made-to-measure service.

We offer visitors a guided tour of the workshop and a look into Balbriggan’s textile heritage. A fantastic experience! - The tour was a wonderful experience! The staff were incredibly fun to spend time with and the service was white glove. I absolutely recommend a visit to this shop to anyone in the market for quality tailoring. Top of my list the next time I visit Ireland.

A hidden gem - Absolutely loved this tour, it incorporated many interesting and historic facts about Balbriggan. It was great to practice some weaving and to have fun with the photo experience. The tour guide’s knowledge is amazing, she was so friendly and answered any questions that were had. Seeing the process of how garments are made has made me appreciate the effort that goes into one single jacket/waistcoat. This tour is highly worth a visit.

very enjoyable experience - the tour was really interesting from history of the manufacturing in balbriggan to modern ways of production and design, we got to see how tweed waistcoats are made and a hands on experience of making the fabrics. overall it was a very enjoyable experience and definitely would recommend the tour.

A most interesting visit to Dorian Black - This was a wonderful experience. As a local historian with some knowledge of the textile heritage of the town, I was very impressed by the tour guide's knowledge of the hosiery heritage of Balbriggan. The tour in the cutting room was most informative and gave a lot of insight into the garment making at the premises. The demonstration of the spinning and weaving was probably the most entertaining and educational aspect of the tour. Both Petra and Cathy were extremely professional in the management of the tour group, whilst remaining friendly and welcoming.
I would strongly recommend a visit to anyone who is interested in history, heritage or craft

A good place to go on a wet Day - An interesting piece history with some inside in the craft of weaving and its development in Balbriggan of which I knew nothing. Nice and friendly guide happy to answer questions!.. Next time I will bring some friends along!

Great Tour! - This is most interesting tour well worth visiting if you're in Balbriggan, just north of Dublin and close to the airport. With many samples of local hosiery tradition this is a must for anyone interested in tweed.
