Beautiful! - So beautifull!! Defenitly recommend. Only 'downside' was the food: lots of rice and fish. Barely any vegetables or meat and not a lot of fruits; my only suggestion for the company would be to bring more fruits and veggies. But there is a shop on the camp to get some snacks/drinks. Tents were comfortable with a fan and power outlets. Guides were lovely. Had the best time!

Balabac a best place to be - Balabac Palawan is one of the best places ive visited in the Philippines, its remoteness and paradise looking islands is just so hard to miss, though the trip is far from puerto and distance from island to island is long - still worth all your travel time, dont miss this amazing place book with lagum adventure!

Balabac, 4D3N - First off, the places u visit is incredible! And it seems like they try to match people that would go good together. The campsite is also good. Was impressed by fans inside the tent (not everyone has it). The food is very poor.. With the amount u pay they can do better. And the tourguide is ok, but also not the best in english and should probably work a little on bringing people together and so on. And did u know, he only get paid 500php each day, he should get paid more since u pay 15000php and additional service fee when u pay.. When that said, i would go again just because of how beautiful the place is! Most beautiful place i’ve ever seen. Just don’t expect any comfort and it will be fine. Oh and it’s actually 3days tour, the 4th day is waking up at 05 and transfer to puerta princesa.

Grades landscape but bad organization - The tour was magnificent and very wild. There were very few tourists. We saw fantastic landscapes! However, there was a real problem with organization and communication (the guides didn't inform us of the day's schedule, we had to ask multiple times, ahead of the trip, impossible to get a clear response from the organizers about staying a night in Onuk,...)."

Stunning scenery but the tour itself was subpar - Balabac is truly stunning and isn't yet overrun with tourists! But the lack of tourism means the infrastructure isn't necessarily there yet and alongside the communication it impacted the tour. Would I do the tour again? Probably. You stay each night on a nice island in tents. But many of the tents have no mattress - we got a mat that isn't even as thick as a yoga mat. It's super uncomfortable even though you're sleeping on the sand. Some people got foam mattresses and we managed to get ourselves one for the 3rd night. After your 3am wakeup that morning your sleep deprevation really starts creeping up. Then the roosters start at 3am next morning (but this is to be expected). The tents also leak alot. We had one thunderstorm while we were there and everyone's beds and belongings got wet. The toilet shower facilities met expectations for this kind of tour - no running water but good privacy and lights at night. During the weekend the island is also super busy - there was like 100 of us there on the first night which really didn't lend to the remote island atmosphere. It was too many people for 4 toilets also. The tour guide isn't really a guide. The info they tell you for each island is it's name and how long you'll stay there (which is never correct). When we gave feedback to the guide that the food for dinner was insufficient he told us he's just the guide and the food is not his job... As the tour guide I expect them to support with things like this? The communication was consistently insufficient of where you needed to be when, what was happening on transport days etc. The boats you cruise around on are too small for the purpose. If there is even a small swell you get absolutely soaked. Its not enjoyable cruising around on the boats, the motor is loud and your getting soaked. The longest time we spent on the boat straight was 2hrs. The food was fine but no fruit and limited vegetables. Not the best portions. You won't want to see rice again for a while after it being the center of your food 3meals a day for 4 days. There's a shop on the island you stay on with beer, drinks and snacks but nothing very healthy. The shuttles - which the company organise on your behalf - we're a mixed experience. For the first one with 3am pickup he blasted rock music for the entire drive and drove uncomfortably - even on asia/Philippine standards. The other one was OK, still crazy driving but more what you expect. The scenery you see makes it all worth it. My tips if you do it: Dry bag Use your towel as your 'mattress' Keep your expectations low Eye mask and earplugs BYO fruit

We were expecting the worse, and we were still disappointed. - We read the bad reviews here, but it was the only balabac tour available, so we decided to give it a try anyway. We saw the company responding bad reviews and apologizing, so we thought they were improving. Spoiler: They didn’t improve anything, everything written on every bad review happened to us. Crazy driver (we have travel Vietnam, Cambodia and a lot of places in the Philippines) and never had a driver as bad as this one, he even ran over a dog. Next we waited for more than an hour and a half at the pier, without any instructions or anyone looking out for us. When the “guides” arrived they didn’t even say hi or introduce themselves, or the company they were part of. They just told us to get on the boat. The boat was overcrowded, we didn’t even had personal space. The so called “guide” introduce himself finally in the boat. It was the first of no more than 500 words he said in the whole tour, without exaggerating. The food was far from being good, but still eatable, until… the last night we got food poisoning. Trust me, you don’t want to get food poisoning in an island in the middle of nowhere, where there is not even a proper shower or toilet. They provided water to us only on the meals, and the water came from a very dirty water canister. When we were on the boat rides to and from the island some of them more than an hour and a half long, we didn’t had anything to drink. The islands we visited were kind of dirty and not as impressive as you would imagine, except for Onok Island, and a couple more that were beautiful. Every day we came back to the camp earlier than the schedule, the first day at 4 pm, the second one at 3:45 pm and the third one at 3 pm. Having no more than 45 minutes in most of the islands. We never were explained of what we were doing that day, or what was the best thing to do in the places we visited. The guide barely spoke to us. And he wasn’t around most of the time. Also we got new passengers on the boat everyday I don’t know why (the first day we were 18, the second 21, the third one 26) when we came back to the main pier there were people standing in the boat without a seat. The Camp it’s not bad but very run down. And there are some abandoned dogs that get really agressive at night, an accident will happen sooner or later. To be fair the “kind of good things” were: Aivin, he was a guy from the boat crew, and he did everything from raising the anchor, to serve us the meals, he even looked out for the sick people and he was doing his best to explain some things to us George, the “official guide” was very responsive when a guy from the tour got sick, he arranged a boat in the evening to the nearest hospital. Onok island is beautiful, also the camp beaches are not bad, you can even see bioluminescent plancton in the shore at night (nobody told us that, a guy discover it by accident) The driver that took us back to Puerto Princesa was good, until we arrived, because he refused to drop us in the hotels. I really hope that nobody from Lagum Adventures will apologize here, because it would be offensive. They don’t care, they are no solving anything. And it’s not a cheap tour. Please stop doing this until you can do it the right way. You are scamming people. In conclusion: when we booked we thought it was better to go to balabac even with a bad company than not going, we were wrong. We made our best to have a good time, and still got nice moments. But most of the trip was a nightmare, specially the food poisoning part. So don’t go with this company. It’s better to spend more time on one of the thousands beautiful beaches in the Philippines, or just spend a little bit more in a better Company in other destination if Balabac it’s not possible.

Poorly organized tours - Tour was poorly organized. Lack of communication with the agency. Travel from Puerto Princessa to Buliluyan Port takes 5 hours. Very unsafe drivers. On the way back the van stopped at “gas station”, a small house where the sell gasoline in plastic bottles. Passengers in the car, engine is working, they fill gas and smoke! Boats that transport you from Buliluyan Port to the camp are seriously overloaded and unsafe. Food - rice 3 times a day. The campsite is nice. It doesn’t feel remote adventure. There are lots of tents and groups. It isn’t a backcountry adventure trip. Islands are nice. Coron and El Nido are much nicer. And provide more variety. There are no corals. Swimming with sea turtles was fun.

Nightmare company, better choose another for Balabac - A half day of touring was removed from the schedule we booked without discussing this with us of refunding us for this missed half day. Second of all, the boat engine was super loud. We could not even talk to each other while on the boat. Both me and my partner have ear damage and tinnitus that may remain forever? Third of all, we have food poisoning. I understand that some food may not be available in such remote places but this is not acceptable. Fourth, while you advertise with Nipa huts on your website, the owner of the campground mentioned that Lagum always and only uses tents. This is just straight up lying on your website. Lastly, the whole reason why you cut the expedition short was to combine us in a van with other shared group people. This van was full and there was no room for us! A driver of another organization had to take us back to Puerto Princesa.

Avoid this tour group - Tour to avoid by any means. the only good thing about the expedition was balabac. The rest was a disaster, the person who is supposed to be the guide does not fulfil his role, he doesn’t say anything or explain anything but simply sleeps on the boat. He Whistles at you to tell you to come for food but if by any chance you don’t hear it then you don’t get food as there isn’t enough food for everyone and anyway the food is more than disgusting, just rice with some meat for 4 days… even for breakfast. You don’t get vegetables if you’re not vegan or vegetarian so if you care about your nutrition … not the tour for you. No other drinks served apart from warm water. Coffee and tea would be nice to offer at lunch time as caffeine is required on the day trips! We asked to dispose plastic rubbish we collected from the beaches and were told by staff to leave it there as they don’t want to dispose of it! So yes beaches beautiful but squint to avoid the sight of plastic. The transport organisation is a disaster too. You’re waiting a long time between arriving by boat at the port and then waiting for the shuttle. There is no representative at the port waiting for you. We had to wait over an hour for a van to arrive of which we weren’t sure would even come. No wifi or service to have called the group organiser via WhatsApp either… so yes beautiful beaches and water, absolutely amazing islands. But choose another tour group to go through we’d say…
