- Fountain Square - Fountain Square is a vibrant hub for entertainment and leisure in downtown Baku. Historically, this area became a key trading street during the first oil boom in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It serves as both the meeting point and conclusion of the tour.
- Baku Old City - The tour continues with a walking tour of the Old City. Participants will be driven to the Double Gates to begin the tour, which lasts approximately 1-2 hours. From the Double Gates, visitors can see the Chain, Sailor, and Cat Houses, Bukhara and Multani Caravanserais, Juma Mosque, and Maiden Tower. The guide will provide historical insights into the Old City and its notable buildings. After taking photos at the Maiden Tower, the tour proceeds to the Miniature Book Museum (if open), home to the world’s largest collection of miniature books, including a 0.75mm thick book with 22 pages. The museum boasts a unique collection of over 5,600 books from 66 countries.
- Palace of the Shirvanshahs - The next stop is the Shirvanshah Palace, a gem of Azerbaijani architectural heritage and former residence of the Shirvan rulers, located in central Baku. The stunning complex includes the Divan-Khan courtyard, a tomb, a mosque from 1441, a bathhouse, and the mausoleum of court scholar Seyid Yahya Bakuvi.
- Little Venice - “Little Venice” is a picturesque area within Baku’s Seaside National Park, reminiscent of the Italian city of Venice, adding a unique charm to the capital with its beautiful scenery.
- Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum - The Azerbaijan Carpet Museum showcases Azerbaijani carpets and rugs, featuring various weaving techniques and materials from different eras. It houses the world’s largest collection of Azerbaijani carpets and relocated to a new building on Baku’s seafront park in 2014 from its previous site on Neftchiler Avenue.
- Highland Park - Highland Park, situated in the heart of Baku, is a beloved leisure spot for locals and is considered one of the city’s most beautiful parks. It offers the highest vantage point in the city, providing a stunning panoramic view of Baku. Also known as Viewing Square, the park was named after Sergei Kirov during the Soviet era. Its unique panorama overlooking the city, Baku bay, and Seaside National Park explains its “Highland” name. In the 1930s, during Baku’s urban planning, the park’s location was chosen for its significant role in the city’s architectural composition. From Highland Park, visitors can see major landmarks of Baku.
- Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center - The tour concludes at the Heydar Aliyev Center, an architectural marvel with its flowing, futuristic design that symbolizes modern Baku. Visitors can explore its captivating curves, engaging exhibitions, and experience a fusion of art, culture, and innovation. Even from the outside, this landmark leaves a memorable impression.
