- Katchikally Crocodile Pool - The Kachikally Crocodile Pool is one of three revered crocodile pools in the Gambia. The crocodile symbolizes fertility, and these sacred sites are still used for rituals by women facing challenges with conception. The legend of crocodiles bestowing fertility dates back 500 years when the Bojang family first settled in the area. It is believed that the fertility spirit rewarded their generosity by gifting them a magical pool. They were tasked with populating it with wildlife, so they introduced two crocodiles. Locals believe that the current crocodiles are descendants of the original pair.
Kachikally Crocodile Pool is set within six acres of lush tropical forest, offering numerous nature trails and footpaths for those wishing to explore more of the park.
- Brikama Craft Market - Brikama is the second largest city after Serekunda, and the Brikama woodcarving factory is the largest in the Gambia.
Around 200 woodcarvers showcase their creations here, offering a variety of items crafted from different types of wood.
- Mandinari River Lodge - This excursion is perfect for nature enthusiasts. The journey begins with a drive to Lamin Lodge, where a boat can be hired (boat fee not included in trip price) for a ride along the creek. After 1-2 hours, the journey reaches a village called Daranka, where visitors can explore the women’s garden and observe them collecting oysters from the mangrove roots. In Daranka, there is also a tree known as the Elephant tree due to its impressive size.

Day trip - Were on a great trip with our 2 big kids.
We visited the museum by the crocodiles and crocodiles, which one came very close and could touch.
The crocodile passes were really good at explaining about them and taking good care of us.
Afterwards we drove through the large market in serrekunda and ended up at Lamin Lodge, where we had to sail on the river. We saw different birds, crabs and oysters. We landed on a sand bank and watched local women dig for molluscs. We walked through a stream and came to a huge and old silk tree. There was a little little village, with a lot of cute kids.
We ended our trip at the fish market, which was busy, colorful and full of locals who sold and traded fish and everything else.
Very exciting and super good day.
Bring extra money to support the locals who are really good at telling about their country and who make the trip really special.

Recommend this tour for anyone - We loved how much of the city and country side we saw and got to completely understand the culture of the area. Doing the boat ride was calming and seeing the oyster beds on the mangroves was something we have never seen.
Great trip that we would recommend for everyone.

Crocodile encounter - Communication with the guide was clear and concise pick up time was as scheduled. firstly we went to the crocodile pool. only 100 dilasi to enter our guide Jarry took us through the museum which she was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the Gambia and different tribes and traditional dress and instruments, which we found very interesting. moving through we came to the pool where the crocodiles were emerging from the water to sun themselves this seemed quite eerie as there were no fence and they were literally upon your feet. the guides from inside the sanctuary advised us which ones to touch and told us not to go near the head this felt really weird to be stroking a 7 foot monster! After the crocs we went to the market which was extremely busy and they sold absolutely everything. We then took the trek to Lamin Lodge where we took the boat trip around the mangroves and to the elephant tree where the locals hid from the Americans from slavery again the history is very fascinating. we cut our safari short as we were exhausted but we had great experience and will definitely do this again when back in Gambia and allow more time to complete it. many thanks to Jimmy and Jarry for a wonderful experience.

The tour operator is good - The tour operator is a family business. My tour guide, Jimmy, is a pretty young girl but shows experience and professionalism. Although not all spots were attractive, there are some highlights including the fishing market, which is unique and local.

Jimmy the Best Guide from The Gambia - Excellent experience!!! The best guide in town very kind and gentle, made us a wonderful trip... we spend 1 week in the smiling cost and the visits we've maid with Jimmy were all the best of our trip. I would definitely do it again and i recommend to everyone who would like to visit the country. Me personally I just have to say thank you because he maid us feel safe and secure and the welcoming he give us was the best. definitely do it again!!!!! Merciiiiiii

Great tour guide and great activities - Absolutely amazing experience. Jimmy is a wonderful guide and is extremely helpful in answering questions. The crocodiles are a lot of fun and the boat tour is relaxing. The market can be a little overwhelming but Jimmy did a great job navigating it. Highly recommend.

See it all Safari - A great experience of Gambian life I got to see and touch crocodiles. Saw the mango trees with muscles and the impressive 850 old cotton tree which you can walk in. Lunch on Sanyang beach was gorgeous but the service was poor. The best for me was the fish market at Tanji. You get that iconic view of the hustle and bustle of Gambians trading. All accompanied by Sari who was always making sure I was happy and safe.
