• Arch 22 - Arch 22 is a prominent monument situated on the Banjul-Serrekunda Highway. This structure was erected to commemorate the 1994 military coup that brought former President Yahya Jammeh to power.

The arch stands at 35 meters tall and was designed by Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiaby Atepa. Goudiaby Atepa is renowned for designing several notable buildings, including the BCEAO bank headquarters in Dakar and the ECOWAS building in Lomé, Togo.

The Arch is also featured on the reverse side of the 100 dalasi note.

Please note that the lift to the Arch is not always operational, so visitors may need to use the stairs.

• National Museum Of The Gambia - The National Museum of The Gambia showcases historical and cultural artifacts from the country’s colonial past.

Established in 1985, the museum features both an archaeological and a historical section. The exhibitions are curated by Mr. Hassoum Ceesay, a distinguished historian.

For those interested in learning more about the history of The Gambia, this museum is a must-visit!

• Albert Market - Albert Market is a bustling street market named after Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The market is divided into three sections: the wholesale/retail market, the food market, and the tourist market. It typically operates from 8 am to 7 pm. Remember to haggle for the best deals!
