Our vist to the market was a different but good experience. I especially want to mention our guide Jarry for her knowledge and sweet smile.

Amazing Experience. - Organised excellently, very prompt and positive, the guide Jarry and drive Sanku are quite friendly and accommodative, Jarry in particular is knowledgeable and her inputs helped me to understand and appreciate the heritage, culture and traditions of the people of Gambia. She helped me to buy some souvenirs from the local market and also to present my book to Gambian National Library, this is a wonderful agency, traveller friendly and responsive. I will definitely recommend them to anyone visiting Banjul.

Easy meet up outside the... - Easy meet up outside the port gates. Very good guide. Traffic police are to be wary of, stopped 4 times for 'document' check so don't leave it too late to head back to the port.

A good The Gambia snapshot - It was a good day to see some sights of The Gambia. The highlight for us was the Tanjin fishing village with its organised chaos. The manner in which fish are transported off the Sengalese fishing boats ready for the town markets was interesting. We enjoyed wondering through the various areas of the Banjul market and visiting the very sleepy crocs at Katchikally crocodile pool. The museum was interesting for its rare archaelogical pieces from cave and stone ages. Our driver did a great job navigating the traffic and driver chaos. Tourism seems relatively new in this part of Africa and it was our tour guide Jarry's first experience as a guide so she is still learning. Expect to see unroadworthy vehicles transporting you, no airconditioning and no ability to gain ATM access to gambian dollars. USD is more widely accepted. The Lamin Lodge is not worth the brief time we were there unless you stay longer and go for a boat ride through the mangroves. We were there about 10 mins and the guide wanted a tip. We did not do serrekunda markets as we ran out of time with traffic and police stops but we didn't mind. It was good to have additional helpers with the guide so we weren't harrased by locals and constant peddlers.

Short tour of Banjul with a lovely family - Jarri and her brothers and nephew were our guide . They ate a beautiful family . This port doesn’t have much to offer but we did go to Albert’s market , the national museum and the arch . It was an easy tour . This country is developing so yes the van was old but it did get us to where we needed to go . Some people did the extended tour but loaf of us did the shorter one and it was a nice tour. Jarri is caring and gentle and the family stayed around us and answered any questions we had and kept us from being haggled . I’m glad I got off the ship to experienced e a small part of Banjul .

Wonderful experience - An unforgettable beautiful day in Gambia Baku city . Got opportunity to climb highest building Arch 22 and watch the beautiful view of Atlantic Ocean where Gambian river meet up with .Then we went passed stadium,Prison , government buildings and spent the time in the African side of Market going around fruit , fish, meat , vegetables and clothes stalls. Way back we visited oyster farms and crocodile pool . Many people visit it because of the unique experience of touching the real-life crocodile. The guides were also very nice.On the whole we recommend this tour gladly.
