Highlights
  • Valle Ojos Negros - Your tour begins at 11:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Ensenada or valle de Guadalupe.
Near Ensenada, a valley full of vineyards, cheeses and fun opens its way, called Ojos Negros, in Baja California. 40 kilometers east of Ensenada stretches the beautiful and legendary Valle de Ojos Negros.
Beautiful mountains of white rocks, green and fertile land where excellent vegetables and fruits are grown.
It is said that it was in these directions when in 1870 a gambusino named Ambrosio Castillo found a gold nugget and with it, an entire vein. Immediately, thousands of adventurers arrived at the place and thus the Real del Castillo was born, which with the gold rush would become the capital of the then territory of Baja California.
  • Vinicola Infinito - You can visit the vineyard, talk with the winemaker and owner Pepe Pedrosa. You will have the unique opportunity to carry out a personalized and private tasting.
  • La Cava de Marcelo - You’ll first head to La Cava de Marcelo which is the main cava producer of artisan cheeses in Baja California. This place is internationally recognized for its high quality and has been in business since 1911. You’ll enjoy a guided tour to learn about crop production, livestock care, preparation of cheeses, as well as, family history and cheese tasting and wine from the house in the cellar. The brand name is Quesos Ramonetti and it offers natural cheeses in different presentations: Fresh, with Basil, with Romero, with Pepper, Cheese Aged 6 months, 1 and 2 years, and Ricotta and butter of the highest quality. Some of these will be included in your cheese tasting so you can try the best of the best. Your tour then continues with lunch at the Restaurant La Casa Marcelo (own expense). Its menu offers a modern version of the traditional flavors of Mexican cuisine with the best local ingredients from Ojos Negros and Valle de Guadalupe.

Here we will have the chance to explore the vineyard and acquire more insight into viticulture. Despite its dry terrain and intense climates, Vinicola Infinito stands out for the top-tier quality of its Shiraz grape. Subsequently, we travel to La Cava de Marcelo. Here, they offer an educational tour, providing knowledge about crop cultivation, animal husbandry, cheese production, and familial history. This tour concludes with a tasting session of cheese, handcrafted beer, and wine. Fun day in Oso Negro - We own a place at Estero and wanted to explore an area we have never been so decided on oso negros tour! We had a delightful afternoon with Oscar! We visited Infinito winery and did a tasting. The area is so quiet and peaceful. We then went to Dairy cheese farm and did a tour and tastings of cheeses. Oscar was the perfect guide with comfortable safe driving and knowledge of area. It is so nice to now have a friend to connect with for any activities we want to do! We will definitely use him again! Thank you Oscar for a fun day!

Jorge best tour guide and driver perfect English - Absolutely loved this trip. My girl and I came down for the first time in Mexico. Jorge picked us up at our hotel and was a perfect guide. He had amazing stories and was a perfect driver, he knows the route well having taught in the area. I hate other people's driving and felt perfectly safe in his car. We were on the trip from 11 to almost 7 and at no point did he rush us. He even waited for us to get our ice cream at the end because it came late. Jorge's English is perfect you'll have no issue understanding him at all. He will gladly take pictures with his phone and any camera you bring and he's always ready to explain anything that may need translation. Our tour was in both Spanish and English but Jorge made sure to fill in any gaps that may have been missed or skimmed. And for those people that hate overbearing tour guides Jorge is the guy for you. He knows when he's needed and when he's not he leaves you those private moments and doesn't hover all while capturing your trip. If you're coming out her ask for Jorge. On another note if you wish to see the full Vinyards in full swing go earlier than November, but I can honestly say the weather was absolutely perfect.

Best. Day. Ever. - Jorge, our tour guide, was our favorite part about the experience!! Our trip to Ojos Negros was so memorable because we were able to see Ensenada through the eyes of someone who loves their hometown! 💗 We shared stories of our shared experiences from each side of the border. My husband lived in Mexico as a child and hasn’t been back since our children were born and the drive to the vineyards was incredible: informative, fun and entertaining. La Cava de Marcelo was a highlight of the tour - our guide there was Elias, he was young and so well-imformed and funny. We asked tons of questions as we were there more for the cheese than the vino. 🧀😋 Also highly recommend the lavender farm- Aleyah-Granja de Lavanda: idyllic piece of heaven with wonderful service and amazing food 🔥. The kids adored all the animals on this farm-to-table wonderland. Everything on the tour was epic but most of all Thank you Jorge for an unforgettable day!!!!💓

Wine 🍷 and Cheese 🧀 - Best tour we have taken! The best wines we have tasted. We have samples Napa, Somona, among other places to try wines and this tour shown us what we have been Missing in regards to wine. The cheeses, crated with such love and care, the freshened, and taste of the cheeses we couldn’t help but to buy 3 different cheese to take home. There are some surprises along this tour and it will just make you fall in love with the area so much you want to move here. Highly recommend this tour.
