Whale watching in a wheelchair - We had a great time and saw beluga, minke, and three humpback whales spouting and their tails! It was more challenging to do because I use a manual wheelchair. At first we were not happy as we where on the low deck with no outside viewing area. I was told that more than once by Audrey (who answered all my questions) that we could be inside or outside. We expressed our frustration and the crew who contacted a senior leadership woman with bars on her shirt who had us go back on the big hydrologic ramp and they moved it up to the mid-level! They helped us get down the two steps to the front of the ship where I could see without any obstructions or any people in front of me. They were very accommodating, friendly, and made sure we were happy....and we were. We loved seeing all the marine life including the grey and harbor seals. It was exciting to see the whales spouting. Also minkes swimming together. We enjoyed seeing the High Prince Lighthouse and getting so close to it. Also, going in the fiords and seeing the small waterfall. We ordered the lunch so we were able to pick it up and eat while whale watching. We definitely needed our sock hats and jackets as it can get quite windy (and cold) when the ship increases its speed. Again, we didn't expect to see any humpbacks at all so seeing them three times was quite exciting. A special thank you to Audrey (phone) and the whole crew on the Grand River ship. You made it a wonderful experience the three of us will not forget. The Campbells, St. Louis, MO USA

Wonderful experience! - A very memorable excursion as we saw beluga, minke whales, humpback whales, dolphins, gray seals, etc. Staff was friendly but be sure to give yourself lots of extra time on arrival, due to the traffic bottleneck at the ferry port. The last 2 km of the drive took over an hour!

A great time whale-watching and a learning experience - The cruise was great. We saw a number of different whales, plenty of seals. The commentaries were both in French, English and some Spanish. The guide was knowledgeable about mammal life, the region and history of this part of the Saint Lawrence River. He clearly cared about what he was talking about. The boat has a snack bar and souvenir shop, plenty of tables for people to have lunch or just unwind. We all had a great time.

Good day but not great. Should have gone on the Zodiac - If you prefer to get up closer take the Zodiac. We got to see a few whales but the zodiac definitely looked better.

Well worth it! - We took the 4pm zodiac yesterday, encouraged by the sunny weather. We were lucky enough to see 3 big ‘tail flips’ as the whales dived, a number of beluga and porpoises. The trip also included a close up of the beautiful views of the fjord which was an added bonus. We were on the bigger of the zodiacs which could go at high speed to follow sightings of whales. Bilingual commentary was helpful. Recommend if you are visiting in good weather.

Do not waste your money on "upper deck access" - If you plan on going, save your money and purchase the base ticket. The "access to upper deck" ticket is such a con. We thought we might get a better view traveling with children. There was no distinction between the base ticket and exclusive access once on board the ship. Everyone had the same access unless you purchased the VIP tickets.

It is a gamble - The ferry would not cross the river because of tropical storm Phillipe. So we could not take our cruise. They probably did not go that day but we got no refund. This cruise is a pretty risky proposition since you have to have a reservation which is paid in full. Apparently if they do not sail, you lose your money. By the way, when the ferry decided to cancel the trip, the money was refunded automatically while we were still on the dock.

Disaster, Scam, Waste of time - Don‘t go there, let‘s start with that. We drove out there for 3 hours and didn’t see any whales at all. During all the time on the water the guide said ohh normally here are whales ohh normally you can see them here and just gave us a lesson about the whales (rly annoying). But afterwards she said during the tour (!) that there haven‘t been whales the last days. We bought the ticket the day before. We had to drive there for 3 hours because it‘s rly out in the nowwhere, then you pay over 100$ per person and you have to stay in a hotel close to that area, so a lot of costs. I don‘t say that they can promise that there are whales but to know that you haven‘t seen any whales in days and still sell tours the day before with „whale guarantee“ and don‘t say a word is almost a scam. And the „whale guarantee“ means that you can come again and not that you definitely see whales but that‘s also not mentioned next to the „whale guarantee“ that‘s mentioned a lot beneath. So first of all why would I do all of that again, so many additional expenses for nothing but second of all (and that‘s the worst part) you have to call a number to book new tickets and you already have to know the date and it‘s attached to your name. So for tourists it‘s almost impossible because they mostly don‘t have a canadian number and can‘t call with other additional expenses. And they can not go again bc normally you have a plan AND they don‘t know any people to which they could give the tickets. So over all, they can not promise you anything and are not honest when selling tickets AND when I filed my complaint they said oh bad for you but that are our rules but here is a link where you can read the rules. Just stay away from that company.
