NATIONAL MUSEUM OF EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION

National Museum of Egyptian Civilization NEMC - The tour begins at 9:00 am with a pickup from your hotel. The main Exhibition Hall showcases the four primary crafts that shaped Egyptian civilization: pottery, wood, textiles, and ornaments. Here, you can view the world’s oldest prosthetic toe, a skeleton dating back 30,000 years, the last Kaaba Cover made in Egypt, and the Mahmal, which was used to transport the cover from Egypt to Saudi Arabia. The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is the first museum worldwide to provide a comprehensive view of Egyptian civilization throughout history, from prehistory to modern times. NMEC displays numerous artifacts to illustrate Egyptian civilization over time, starting with the predynastic and Ancient Egyptian periods, through the Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and modern eras. Additionally, you can see the Kaaba key, a Clepsydra (an ancient time-measuring device), and, of course, all the royal mummies.

The title of Baron was bestowed upon Edward Empain by the King of France for his contributions to the establishment of the Paris metro. Upon arriving in Egypt, he expressed his wish to be buried there in his will.

The Baron Empain Palace (Arabic: قصر البارون إمبان, “Qasr el Baron Emban”), also known as Le Palais Hindou (literally, The Hindu Palace), is a distinctive and historic Hindu temple-inspired mansion in Heliopolis, a suburb northeast of central Cairo, Egypt. It was founded by Edward Louis Joseph Empain, a Belgian businessman who was awarded the title of “Baron” by the King of Belgium for his contributions to the Paris Metro and tramway lines connecting Belgium, Northern France, and Holland.

Abdeen Palace Museum - Located in the Abdeen District, Abdeen Palace (Arabic: قصر عابدين) is a 19th-century Cairo palace built by Khedive Ismail, serving as Egypt’s seat of government from 1874 until the July Revolution in 1952. Since then, it has been one of the presidential palaces. The palace is situated in its namesake district, part of the Western Area of Cairo, and within the Khedival Cairo Area of Value to the west of Historic Cairo.

Prince Mohamed Ali Palace (Al Manial Palace) - The Manial Palace and Museum is a former Alawiyya dynasty-era palace and grounds on Rhoda Island on the Nile. It is located in the Sharia Al-Saray area in the El-Manial district of southern Cairo, Egypt. The palace and estate have been preserved as a historic house museum and estate, directed by the Antiquities Council, reflecting the settings and lifestyle of the late 19th- and early 20th-century Egyptian royal prince and heir apparent. The residence compound, composed of five separate and distinctively styled buildings, is surrounded by Persian gardens within an extensive English Landscape garden estate park, along a small branch of the Nile.
